Diamond Are Forever…well maybe for next season

Interesting to see us switch into a diamond with the three subs today.

Initially (56 mins):

         James

Williams Scott

       Weimann

  Conway Bell

and a glimpse of Bell and Conway together as a two.

Then (70 mins):

           James

Williams Weimann

             Bell

  Conway Wells

when Wells replaced Scott.

Its fair to say we took it to Burnley, Conway had a partner, flick-ons falling to our players or into gaps for us to challenge for the loose ball.

Not just the front 6, but we saw for the first real time in the game our ability to get our full-backs (Sykes on at RB and Pring) forward.  Pring no longer worried about Benson (what a goal son, btw) forward.  James just sitting in front of Vyner and Naismith.

I thought Williams through physicality and energy if a bit hit and miss with his passing.  Weimann finding pockets to cause them lots of probs.  For those in the SS how close was the shot he screwed wide?  Looked close to me, but I had a bad angle.

I feels like next season we can drill the back four, but have flexibility with the front 6.  Think it would suit Cornick too, to play closer to another forward.

Sykes impressive also.  Maybe him and Tanner are the RBs.

A brief glimpse of a life without Alex Scott???

Might be nothing though! ???
