We arrived last Saturday at the tail end of the heatwave. I like the sun (my skin doesn’t it looks like I’ve a city home shirt on) but the first few days was uncomfortably hot.
I suspect you had that in Portugal as well.

Every other year I could say yes but this year Summer just refuses to properly get going somehow

How did you manage the pinstripes?

What sort of thing did he say?

A lot about the environment provided for youth ( ie it's perfect) and the fact that if a youngster doesn't take the opportunity provided, they're gone.

He explained how the 4 transfers played out.

He also stated that everyone at the HPC is 'aligned' and pulling in the same direction.

Finally he was very, very positive about the next 'batch', 17 year olds already playing for the 21's.

All very positive stuff.

Isn't he banned for some reason? I'm sure I read that somewhere.

It’s hard to keep up with his bans to be honest. I think he had 4 last season.

One was for walking into the ladies claiming to be transgender…….best not get started on that here!

Ah yes heard that one too. I've recently chatted with one of his former teachers a few times who said he always had a screw lose. He's always been tolerated cus he's an absolute diehard but his behaviour seems to be getting more erratic

Won’t lie, mehmeti looks a little off the pace compared to the rest of the first framers.

He does doesn't he. One awful pass putting Roberts in trouble followed by a dreadful cross.

He'll be alright though.

Towler just on for Pompey.

Some 657 a bit fed up with him (Westwood). Was urinating in the concourse with kids about last season.  Has been given a warning I heard!

He stank of piss when I met him 15-20 years ago. Some things never change!

Is he showing any signs of improvement since last season ?

Fitness wise definitely. A lot more willing to press now, still has the inconsistency you would expect of someone his age and experience much like Zak a couple of years ago.
But still brilliant in a 1 on 1 and decent crossing. Will definetly become a top quality player imo but still has some learning.

Yes, he needs to be making better decisions sometimes IMO

QPR and Birmingham getting battered by L1 sides….but yeah, our pre season was ‘too easy’ and ‘pointless’

QPR are so weak it is untrue.

Struggle to remember a side at our level looking so unprepared this close to a new season.

One of their CBs (Dunne) has just gone off with a shoulder injury (it looks serious), so the 2 playing CB at present have 1 minute of league experience between them, it would be like us starting with Araoye & Knight-Lebel next week.

Good game tbf.

Clean sheet always nice, the game showed the level of press we can set. Thought we looked like we didn’t have to leave 2nd gear most the time. Our first half team sheet with a couple of tweaks is what we will play against Preston I think. COYR

Any way of finding out how chesterfield are getting on without subscribing to Joey’s Twitter scam?

Didn't the Gas beat them 2 - 0   Anyway they are worrying about their new stand which they have started building without planning consent. Now the neighbours have complained about it, they have sold over 3000 season tickets and it won't be finished in time for the start of the season.  They keep on giving, don't they!
