Digital Ticketing

No problem for me at all. Entered Atyeo end of the Dolman. Placed phone on top of the reader and walked straight in 2 mins ago. A steady flow of people but no queue as such. Plenty of stewards on hand helping people if needed.

Concourse is very busy, you will spend longer queuing for a drink than scanning a digital ticket!

I got a case which covers all of my phone like a book. My ticket scanned  for me without any problem at all with the case

The ONLY bit that makes me sad about not having physical cards anymore, is that I won’t have an actual card to add to the many I’ve collected over the years. As in they’ll just disappear from my phone wallet at the end of the season. My daughter has a season ticket this year, and I won’t have a card to put in her “box of stuff to look through when she’s grown up.”

Yep, but that’s happening with everything. Boarding passes, concert tickets, etc. all things I would have previously kept.

Unfortunately I require an Allen key to take my case off and my ticket didn’t work today. It always works when paying in shops. In my opinion this is a club issue not mine and I won’t be carry a spare Allen key in my pocket to remove it just for matches

My car share buddies and I all got in perfectly well. However the guy who sits next to me wasn’t so fortunate and couldn’t get in so had to go over to the ticket office. He reckoned that there were several others there so it obviously wasn’t as straightforward for everyone.

Just a few teething problems I guess.

They way some say ‘it worked for me’ makes me laugh. It can read like if it didn’t work for you you’re the problem.

I see there was problems with Android and quite a few update/.releases have been made to the ticket sales portions.

Hopefully it will all get sorted!

I mean, respectfully if it didn't work for some people it may have been their problem? If you don't have NFC (the contactless technology) switched on then it won't work regardless of if you downloaded the ticket or not. Hopefully those people with that issue were helped to switch it on instead of just being let through as otherwise they will just have the same issue next time.

Good point Dave. My case is pretty thick and I had quite a bit of trouble getting it to activate my ticket (its now showing city v Brum on 5/8 btw).

I'll try this technique next game.

Maybe it's the sensitivity of the receivers in the readers that need adjusting. Or we've signed off on the low power version without realising the implications. (A bit like buying a DAB radio for £35, rather than a DAB+ for £40, and thinking you've got a right result.)

Didn't work for me. iPhone, and Apple Pay functions with no problem.

I had a struggle and also had to be let in with a card. The helpful man who sorted it made several suggestions, including running the phone from top to bottom over the scanner.

I was a bit dubious when the match changed from Preston to Birmingham on the ticket while I was in the queue. I thought, I'm not that late! The date was still correct though.

I have used the phone to buy stuff, so thought it would be okay.

But it did work for me, and I am on Android (with a thick phone case) So not sure what the problem was? Certainy wasn't implying the user was the problem, It was just an observation...

On reflection this isn't the best response, as anyone could have had an issue for any number of reasons.  @REDOXO you are right, so I hope this all gets sorted for everyone and there are no issues in the future. ?

On Android also, mine didn't work. Was there an actual acknowledgment there was an issue with Android, or just feedback from us on here?

Mine initially showed the PNE ticket then showed Birmingham ticket for half an hour then showed Preston ticket again, then didn't work anyway Steward let me through a side gate near Lansdown turnstile ..

Used to see the occasional problem with cards in the past too, so I guess no change there

Same time I arrived, but queues were more to do with influx of people rather than turnstile issues as we moved very swiftly

I wonder in the future if the club can produce a card that looks like the season card but is for commemoration purposes for people to keep?

FAQ

My Digital Season Ticket is not showing the next home match.

A Season Ticket holder’s Digital Season Ticket will update to show the next available fixture, at least two days before the next match. Please ensure you have automatic updates enabled in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet

My iPhone is. Sure it will get refreshed soon.

To be honest after yesterday they can leave it and I’ll just mill around the fans village ?

For info. I am one of eight in our group of season card/ticket holders.

Two of these are cards. Once delivered, I then downloaded them in my phone.

I got ‘that’ email saying the card won’t be delivered… though it had; so it was a poorly worded generic email.

Yesterday the card worked fine and I still have the e-card on my phone.

So I have 2x seats on either a card or phone which will both work, using one of the two options per match ?

Interesting that some people’s phones have been showing Birmingham on 5 Aug. Wonder if the type of phone or whether phone software is up to date has a bearing. Mine is an iPhone with software up to date and I’ve not had that issue - access was also easy yesterday. In line with the FAQs, I don’t expect it to update to ‘Birmingham on 19 Aug’ until closer to the match.

Might vary from phone-to-phone. My mate's e-ticket changed to the Birmingham match within seconds of him swiping in; mine changed at about 9pm last night. Both of our tickets say 5th August though. We both have android phones.

Mine too. It showed brum before that. Still got 5th August showing as the date.

I honestly can't fathom how they've managed to do this. On the face of it I'd say programming error somewhere, especially if it's iterating through our opponents in game order. Maybe some counter is being incremented incorrectly when displaying the opposition. But given that it changes up and down, who knows.

Mine ‘disappeared’ from my wallet today. However it was sitting in my expired passes section - same as happens to train tickets etc - so it was still there and I just moved it back to the ‘live’ page. I don’t know if this is the normal process after each match and whether it would automatically move back to live when it is updated for Birmingham - but just thought I would mention in case others find it has ‘disappeared’ from their wallets and are concerned.

One thing I was hoping to benefit from with digital tickets, was the knowledge of knowing when the next home game was. I rarely check the fixtures.

Turns out, it's yesterday - at home to Birmingham.

How am I supposed to avoid IKEA and Tesco with such a strange system! - I'm in danger of having to use a calendar or something. The Doris is getting suspicious.

In the used tickets part of the wallet (can’t remember how I found it but looked as someone had posted this earlier). I have put mine back but maybe we get new ones downloaded for the next match and don’t need these??

What phone have you got. If it’s Apple then it’s probably done what mine did earlier and just gone into ‘expired’ items.

iPhone. Will the next game just appear then?

Edit. Just found Preston game ones in the expired bit.

At least it’s not like when the new web site started up or you’d have some else’s ticket ?

Mine went to ‘expired passes’. There was a little box at the bottom of the wallet saying ‘1 expired pass’ and it was there. If you can’t see that message, try going to ‘settings/wallet and Apple pay’ and you can ‘unhide’ expired passes.

Once you’ve found it you can update it as per @eardun above, by switching auto update off and on again.

I doubt it’s meant to happen like this every time!

On the ticket: top right, little circle with … inside: pass details.

I think you’re probably right that it will happen anyway!

Mine still isn't showing, tried it a couple of times.
I'll wait until we get nearer the game, won't panic just yet.

Cheers though.

I agree. My wife’s ticket auto updated to 19 Aug Birmingham without her doing anything - that prompted me to switch auto updates off and on which worked for me (it may have happened automatically at some point I guess). She tells me that hers worked because, unlike me, she doesn’t bother looking at it every 5 mins!!! That’s probably the best tip (although I think I’d still check it 48 hours before the match!)

Yeah, no need to panic, I’m sure. It can’t be meant to happen like this. It’s called  ‘automatic’ updates for a reason!!

Still, gives us something else to talk about after an indifferent home game!

Tickets refresh 3 days before the game..why the **** are people worried 2 weeks before the game?

Because its new tech and nobody told us what the **** to expect .

You just get used to having a ticket on your phone, it disappears , I would be surprised if they were no questions .
I'm waiting for this to start on my whats app group , probably as soon as the first ones notice it's gone.

Many of us  ( I imagine) didn't see that. I assumed it would work that way but being a bit suspicious of new tech it still makes me nervous when things disappear you didn't expect too.

I’ve followed all the tips given above (thanks) and then the pass showed the Birmingham match, but it was in the expired passes section for some reason. Then after selecting the “unhide” option it moved back to being a live pass. This is fascinating but there must be better ways of spending my time

I think we may find that if we don’t keep looking at/for it so much, all of this may happen automatically! That is certainly my wife’s experience - she only looked when I asked her to check hers (after mine had gone to expired) and hers was still in live and already updated to Brum on 19th. Whereas I was looking at it regularly and then saw it had moved to expired.
