Checks diary.......not 3 days before the game

You're right... but also not 3 days before the 16th of September! I'm not personally bother, I only looked because of this thread - but as it was different to what others have reported I thought it might be useful to share in case it shed light on the current mechanics of the updates

Do you have more than one adult on your phone or 1 adult and rest kids?

Not sure why you are quoting ‘3 days before the game’. We know a number of season tickets have updated already - some even did it on 6 Aug, the day after the Preston match. Plus the FAQs say this below so it was never fixed to only take place ‘3 days before the game’.

My Digital Season Ticket is not showing the next home match.

A Season Ticket holder’s Digital Season Ticket will update to show the next available fixture, at least two days before the next match. Please ensure you have automatic updates enabled in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

Of course, you can also update it manually by turning auto updates off and on.

But to be fair to the Fewers 35000 is a paltry number to be locked out, especially when a tin pot club regularly get 40000 locked out!

Thought I’d take a look as we’re in match week.

Its updated from Birmingham on the 5th……to WBA on the 5th.

And before anyone asks I’m not slightly concerned about it, just find it interesting that we’re all getting different things come up and different experiences at the turnstiles.

I’m sure it’ll run smoothly eventually.

Damn you, I just had to look at mine....WBA on 19th is what I got ?

And like you, not concerned.

Agree - I find it odd that different people are getting different things. (I went for the manual update route myself and it went straight from Preston on 5th to Birmingham on 19th. My wife’s did that automatically the day after the Preston match.)

Mine is still showing Preston as the next game, so how do I update this?

Not bothered about getting in because it clearly says “Season Ticket” but would be nice to know.

Thanks.

If you have an iPhone, there should be a circled ‘i’ when you open the ticket. Click on that and make sure automatic updates is turned on.

So. My pass has correctly updated for Birmingham.
But - I now only have 1 pass showing. For the first match I had 2 passes, one for me and one for my daughter.
So I now don’t have my daughters pass.

Is this an ‘Adults Only’ fixture? Are we expecting strippers or something?

I’ve also discovered via a friend this morning that id you want to pass your ticket to someone else, if it’s a family ticket - you can’t!

Check to see if it’s in your expired passes. If it is, there will be an option to ‘unhide’.

Interestingly, after previously ensuring automatic updates were on, they miraculously became switched off?

Whilst all is correct with the pass, now unsure if this will happen after every use?

Quick question. My friend is away and wanted to forward his season ticket on to me. Do I use the ios app to view it?

No he needs to go onto his bristol sport account and do it from there. You need an account and to be linked to his account

Have to say my experience of digital ticketing so far has been excellent. Can’t make the game Saturday so friend created a Bristol Sport account, I transferred the ticket to them no problem and my ticket in my wallet has automatically updated to the next upcoming home game. Really easy.

Bit of a contradiction there, as you’re posting on a 30 page thread, helping it get to 31 pages!?

@GrahamC and if auto updates were already on, I found that when I turned auto updates off and on again, it updated to Birmingham immediately (I did this the day after the Preston match only because my wife’s had already updated automatically whereas mine had moved to expired)

My pass for Birmingham has disappeared, to be replaced by a 2023/4 Season Ticket, which has a QR code. I only got into the PNE game after the pass was changed at the turnstile to ‘Birmingham City - 5th August’ - no idea if that’s relevant.

So it’s anybody’s guess what will happen on Saturday. I certainly won’t be arriving too close to KO time!

Also got a QR code on mine - though not seen any of the fixture oddities others have reported.

Guess the QR code alternative means that you shouldn't need a NFC-enabled phone going forwards so that will hope those with non-NFC Android devices.

There clearly are: the system is not updating as it is supposed to for everyone, and the passes did not work at the turnstiles for a number of people at the PNE game. That didn’t cause the scale of chaos experienced at Arsenal last weekend, but it did delay the entry of a good number of spectators.

Yeh it was after that but I’ve sorted it now I think you have to be on the account on which you purchased the ticket to be able to send it on.

Just to clarify you were looking for a ticket on an account that you hadn't purchased it on?

I bought me and my dads season tickets on my account, he’s away so went on to his own account to try and send ticket on to someone else, his ticket was there to see but it wasn’t letting me send, so I went onto my account and sent his ticket under his name to someone else. I’m assuming it worked that way because I bought the season tickets on my account.

Apologies if already answered... I have my ticket and my 2 boys tickets on my phone.  My eldest (13) is going to go on Saturday with my Dad.  I can transfer my ticket to Dad, but if I want to transfer a junior ticket to him, we have to pay upgrade fee. 13 year olds are blocked from having Google wallet, so my son can't have it on his phone.  Any advice on this other than contacting supporter services?

Question : How did you manage to link the friends account to yours?
Im looking at mine and I can only forward my ticket to my child as she’s the only other person under my account.
I assume you have to somehow link your friends account to yours. How is this done please.

I think, if you log in and click on your name in the top corner which drags down some options.

Click on personal details which should reveal My Friends and Family. Click on Manage my Relationships and then click on Create a Relationship.

Not really a digital ticketing issue, but on the subject of creating ‘relationships’. Do you know what determines a relationship becoming a ‘special relationship’.

I’ve got relationships set up with about half a dozen people. One of them always appears as a “special relationship”. Mrs ID is a bit concerned ?

Sorry mate you seem to be on the wrong forum.!

Seriously, no I don’t know, I notice my nephew is my only special relationship, so maybe I had filled out in the family or friends section that he was family and my nephew. Is your one SR a family member?

No, not a family member. No worries: not an issue (except maybe for Mrs ID!) but just intrigued!

Is the QR code usable for entry?

May potentially save me a bit of a faff as I'm not sure my NFC is functioning correctly.

Was wondering if anyone had actually tried this yet, ie just doing a screenshot of the QR code.
I’m wondering if a screenshot won’t work because the way the scanners work, you have to scan the bottom of the phone, so it must somehow be picking up the wallet from the rear of the phone rather than the actual screen itself.

A friend of mine borrows a season ticket at Real Betis and they have the same digital ticket as us, but he’s able to get in using just a screenshot of the QR code.

Wonder if ours doesn’t allow that due to the way the scanner works?

Yes, this is how NFC technology works. Your phone has a ring of wire in that interacts with the scanner. Uses the exact same technology as Apple Pay or contactless cards.

From memory,  a special relationship in this context means you have the authority to purchase on their behalf. Certainly when I came to ST renewal time, it was the one without that tag which wasn't shown until quick call to supporter services added the tag for me

Presumably you'd just need to scan the QR code by putting your screen between the scanner and the turnstile base as if you're scanning a print-at-home ticket (as say at the Oxford cup game the other week).

Was going to ask the same thing.......mine is just in the "Expired Passes" section of the wallet as the Preston game, i assumed it was meant to stay in your wallet & automatically update, but doesn't appear to be the case!

Managed to sort. If you go into the PNE ticket and click options/the three dots, unselect automatic updates and hit done. Then go back in, then automatic updates back on and hit done again, then should update to show birmingham

That’s what I figured. But the way the season card is scanned via the wallet isn’t a scan of the screen, it’s a scan of wallet itself - as per the quote above. So I wasn’t sure if a screenshot would work.

After retrieving my pass from deleted items I have been patiently waiting for it to up date but nothing. So just resorted to the turning on and off of automatic as I did not want to leave it to the last minute. All ready now for tomorrow. I wonder if it would have changed if I had waited.
