I really wish we could see what's going on, no panicking, no knee jerk reaction but with that starting line up we really shouldn't be conceding two goals in the first 20 minutes. I'm hoping it's just a bit of a bad first day back at work kind of situation.

Also I'm sure it's not helping Wood any to have 2 goals shipped in such a short time against a team we should have no issues defending against.

It’s good to be back

Araoye, that's great, so pleased for the kid

I guess he’s the main reason Ryley was sold and looks like Joe Low will be too.

No Naismith in either team today. But on a side note I do not envy Pearson when it comes to team selection when the season starts.

Had his knee iced up in Austria….(whilst on the phone to Wrexham ???)

Was pointed out to have that knock in the background of one of the Austria videos, guess that's put him out for a little while.

Whilst the result doesn't matter, this is a first opportunity for players to impress, so it'll be satisfying for Bell and Knight to have bagged already. The competition for places adds extra weight to friendly performances.

I've seen plenty of posts where people say we are fine for cover in defence because Naismith is one of the cover options.

For me, because of his injury concerns, we can't rely on him to be available to be that cover.

Do people not realise that pre season is all geared for the start of the season?

The players would’ve been beasted in Austria, now it’s about getting minutes into the players. They are probably told not to play at full capacity, due to risk of injury.

I couldn’t give a **** about the result, as long as they’re ready for August 5th!

Even before his quick double today, i've thought this could be a big season for Mehmeti.

Having now settled in and with a full pre season i'm really looking forward to him terrorizing championship defences.

Is he playing on the lhs or behind TC I wonder?

I always thought he would cause havoc just behind the front man.

Big season for him. With Scott likely to go we will be looking at him for creativity.

Doesn't the  conference and below start well before we do? If so, they should be sharper than we are. All about yards in the legs IMHO.

Same weekend as us, but I reckon we're probably unusual in not having played a game already, even with Reading being called off.

Indeed, going to be interesting.

Scott going (hopefully not of course) could dictate where he plays perhaps.

If he does then it's a way of getting both Bell & Anis in the starting line up.

Option of Benarous playing there once he's fit too.

If we're not allowed to feel anything negative about a pre-season performance, are we allowed to feel positive about them? Or do we have to be totally neutral?

I've got some positive thoughts creeping in but I feel I should suppress them...

I don’t get the constant negativity of some, even when it comes to a hastily arranged meaningless kick around to get players up toward match fitness.

I guess other people extrapolated being down in a friendly to torquay in 2mins over the course of a 46 game season to conclude we'd finish on 0 pts.
Though i am sure many of the responses were tongue in cheek!!

We've so far had about two posts that could be deemed negative (ie someone posted the words "slightly worrying") and about 10 posts complaining about constant negativity!

Many! But there are some described by one bloke up the thread as relentless with their negativity. It’s true!

Cornick and Mehmeti have been written off by our fanbase.

I can see them both having a great season.

You don't have to feel neutral however is the first game of pre-season (that we can't even watch) with a mix up different players the right time to feel positive or negative.. I don't think so.

I can't help but be a bit pleased.

When I used to play pre-season friendlies at a pitifully bad level I used to enjoy winning and getting on the scoresheet.

This could be the start that Cornick and Mehmetti need to get on a roll and win a place in the side.

Yes, please remain neutral….????

….at least until we see some highlights, then we can say FFS player x, what were you doing for their opener, or jeez, player z looks a super-star.

Until Tuesday when player x and y become Hyde and Jekyll! ???

Running straight lines on the SDS version of the beep test is one thing….looks like they are managing him very carefully.

You probably aren`t aware of this being a Glos fan but after you`ve played your 14 group games there are quarter finals and then a finals day for the top teams...............................................................................

You and I could fall out you know. :)  We are fully aware of how poor we are this season, no need to rub it in.
