Thought I’d track how many matches they miss too.

When the season gets going I’ll filter out pre-season games, but just in there at the mo’ to test my formulas!  I’ve added “unavailable” too, so things like international break and stuff like that can be factored in.

I’ll base it on official club news where possible.

I haven't been able to read/watch much three last couple of days, has there been any update on semenyo? Or still on track for an August return?

The last update we had from Nige was - paraphrased

the scan wasn’t as bad as we though, hoping he won’t miss the start of the season

but I didn’t take that to be hed be ready for Hull, more that he wouldn’t be out for the first two months.  Woukd be good to get an update.

Couple of updates - I missed Kalas!

Euell suggested Pring may be available for Bournemouth so should be fairly certain to be available against Hull. The only real ‘long term’ injury is currently Benarous who of course did an ACL.

Provisionally I'll mention Idehen and Massengo, both of whom had to be withdrawn in the first half against Exeter yesterday. However it sounds as though it was a bout of illness for Dunc and a dead leg for Han, so no reason they shouldn't be ready for Bournemouth or, far more importantly, Hull.

Ok. Last one before the real thing. It’s rare on a Saturday I want Monday morning to come around quickly but it’s closer to next Saturday so this weekend can bore off.

All others should be available for our seasons curtain raiser in 7(!) days time. Good chance Wilson and Pring may also reappear. Let me know if I’ve missed any and COYRRRR.

Nige said he picked it up yesterday, so not down to Exeter kicking him!  Nige didn’t seem worried.

Kane Wilson will be fit to play Hull: https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/nigel-pearson-bristol-city-wilson-7372852 ✔️

RWB will be one of many interesting positions to see who Nige opts for in the season opener, with Wilson and Tanner the natural competitors for the role but Sykes a bit of a wildcard. Midfield will be the other fascinating area, with if/where Scott starts, and whether Weimann is moved up into Semenyo's position or is kept in his 10 role where he's had so much success. I'm waffling.

Looks like we are down to four players injured going into the weekend, Pring and Wilson back on the grass, Idehen played in u23s in the week::

Pre-season data filtered out.

Wilson fit enough for the bench, Pring absent but maybe just not picked? Good note re Idehen, not in squad today but played for the unders so he’s fit.

Wilson's knock...was an ankle (which he did right in front of us v Exeter).  I'll update my data!!!!

So, so painful. The opening day is like Christmas, but the way the football gods schemed against us was more akin to halloween. Painful.

Potential ‘knocks’ for Sykes, Scott and Atkinson from a heavy hitting (yet ultimately unbookable) Hull side. All looked minor so shall not add them to the list unless they go AWOL against Sunderland.

Ref - you’re a *****.

According to Nige’s pre-match interview yesterday:

Pring - has been training, back in contention for Saturday

Vyner - ill but took part in a light session yesterday (was missing from training day)

Semenyo - making progress

Tomas Kalas wasn’t asked about which makes me think he might be in contention this weekend.

Pring is ok now isn’t he?

I like to see a name in a match day 18, I’m always sceptical up until then! But it sounds like he may well have been in the running for a place today.

Matty James joins the injured ranks. For the second week running, Sykes got kicked to shit but seemed ok so we’ll assume he is. Really disappointing first couple of games. Points versus Wigan feels important.

Bugger. Good spot anyway. 6 points dropped from winning positions, a 90+ goal and injuries. WE'RE BACK.

I wonder if we'll see Josh Owers on the bench tomorrow night, and for several weeks?

Hmmm.

He played against Barnsley this afternoon, so I should think it unlikely.

Interestingly, though, Kadji didn't, so perhaps we will see him on the bench tomorrow.

Pring fit, Wells injured. Though sounds as though it was just cramp. The other absentees from tonight I’m assuming were rested, until we hear otherwise.

Nige said Williams and Dasilva rested and back for Saturday.  He wasn’t asked about Klose, not mentioned him.  He could be one of the ill players???

Will add Klose retrospectively if he was indeed injured.

He was in Switzerland for the birth of his child.

“Timm was not involved tonight as he went to Switzerland because his wife had their first child. So that's why he's not involved today but he'll be fine for the weekend."

I’ll admit to not having read through all of this thread so apologies if this has been covered already.

When the journalists ask their  questions, and knowing how evasive and abrasive NP can be why don’t they nail down the question, so for instance instead of Nigel can you give us an injury update? Why don’t they directly ask about each player, so Nigel can you tell us anything about the progress of Semenyo, Kalas etc, etc. by name.

If he then evades the direct question they are perfectly entitled to ask for clarification in my opinion.

Now some people may say we don’t want to give information to the opposition in advance of the next game.

I would say that football is such a small world that even without being told directly about a player an opponent would find it relatively easy to find out any information they wanted from contacts within the game.

Now we have an injury list post stretching to two pages so I assume I’m not the only fan interested in knowing the state of play with our injured players, but perhaps I am.

I also wonder if the press are briefed not to ask certain questions because the club doesn’t want to share the information because it may be seen in a negative light.

Ahh it’s all a bit concerning. Imagine the odds you’d get if you bet a team would lead in 3 matches without winning any? And actually losing 2? Rough start. Anyway:

Bajic

Kalas

Atkinson

James

Massengo

Benarous

Semenyo

Han-Noah poorly (cheers for the info Dave) and I heard Atkinson was taken off with a knock, any more info there? List at 7 not including Baker. 3 or 4 more than it should be.

Atkinson and Massengo both fine and dandy, and imperious on what was a wonderful night. I can’t recall many City performances I’ve enjoyed more or been prouder of. No new injuries to mention.

Alternative looking table for you Gav.

Interesting quotes from Nige that he’d allowed Timm Klose to have the week off to go back to Switzerland to be with his wife / newborn child, but with Atkinson a bit of a doubt, Timm said he’d stay here.

The story was that Kalas was on the team bus to the ground last night…no idea if he’s nearing a return though.

They have been very careful with not rushing players back, I hope it is only that.
Sol Bamba being looked at sounded like he could be missing long term though.

No new injuries that we know of, but Atkinson’s mention of needing work at Half-Time and a tireless full on Williams performance make me a little nervous. We’ll assume all is well til we know otherwise.

That seems to be our injury list looking at the team news for tonight, with Semenyo and Matty James fit (for the bench). 4 is a good injury list! Not as good as 0, but pretty damn good.

I’m assuming it’s just a well earned night off for Williams and Weimann.

Bell was involved in training on Tuesday (robins uncut) so I don’t think he is injured.

And less than 24 hours after I beamed at how short our injury list was… Weimann knock. Probably the player we’d least want to lose! He MAY be fit for the weekend, and if not Scott enjoys playing at 10, so no need to panic too much I suppose.

Sorry Dave missed this - sounds good. Got our answer now anyway, Weimann starts ? Pring’s absence is a decision I expect but Klose’s is a little odd, no CB on the bench. We’ll keep an eye. COYR.

Slightly frustrating to lose two points so very unnecessarily, but it’s a draw on the road and extends our unbeaten run to 6 (all comps). Huddersfield at AG feels like one we could and maybe should take maximum points from, bring it on ??⚪

Nope.  We had lots of speculation stuff on another thread, but then someone said he was at the HPC yesterday for the Vixens, so unlikely our thoughts were near the mark.
