I’m seeing Vyner, Tanner and Benarous in the pictures on Twitter.

And Naismith.

It's obviously a relief to see them back, but, before the turmoil of the last couple of days, were we expecting them back for this weekend's game, or has the removal of Rennie/change in medial/physio staff resulted in a different opinion being made on their condition?

The three first besides Benarous, were all meant to relatively short term.

Vyner is on or around the 6 weeks

Tanner was impact that’s taken a bit longer

Kal’s calf was meant to be short-term, he’s been in training from what we were told, just not quite ready.

On the latest Instagram video, Matty James is walking out in full kit alongside Andy King (tracksuit) so suspect he’s not as mid-long term as rumoured.

I’ve seen a few on Twitter putting him on their line-up for tomorrow - I’m certain that’s premature. But good news if it’s not serious of course.

2pm tomorrow will be very interesting, hoping for lots of good news.

FOUR BACK. THERE’S FOUR OF THEM. Great start to the day. Now let’s hope Curtis and the boys can make it even better.

Thomas, Nelson and Idehen leave the 20, and Tanner, Vyner, James and Naismith enter it. The former three start. Three go out and four come in as we name a full bench today.

Today is a good day, when we needed it. All the injury returns seem unscathed, though we did have a few in the wars today, as is normal for a scrappy game. Weimann, Conway and O’Leary all took hits but fingers crossed, all seemed ok.

Rob Dickie, clean sheets and goals. My favourite signing in yonks.

What injury has Roberts got? Still struggling from that knock he got the other week from Ipswich?

Yes to my knowledge mate. No idea of its severity but I think we’d have heard if it was really bad so hopefully just a knock. Hopefully back next weekend; with four back today, if we get another one back next weekend we’re suddenly looking so much better.

Weimann looked crocked to me.

Conway had a physical game up against their massive and strong CBs (but hit the post and got the assist) but he should be ok.

O'Leary took a hit in the meat and two veg I think, he'll be ok.

Annoyingly, PA Media (BBC) don’t credit Tommy with an assist, because of the deflection.  I use them for my own created data.

Its an assist in my book.

Once he realised that a bit of movement would leave the CBs for dead he got into the game. I said elsewhere that he needed that physical game, he's been a yard short since he came back and was the same early on against Wednesday, but got better as the game went on. He should be back to himself for QPR imo.

That's ridiculous, they don't take a goal away for a slight touch, so why an assist ?

Someone rightly pointed out earlier, and I think it may be worth raising, the GK brought in to provide injury Cover started for the unders earlier, rather than Bajic.

This COULD be viewed as keeping Bajic on ice for Saturday as Max did take a knock making that excellent save against Sheff Weds.

Just a theory at this point, let’s hope there’s nothing in it and they just wanted to give Thomas game time.

Present in Robins Uncut and kicking ball with disabled supporters with the Robins foundation yesterday. So seems he’s alright 👍

No new returns but no new injuries, and after getting four back last week we’ll take that 👍 Backwell vacates the bench and isn’t replaced as we name eight subs.

Good luck Liam, let’s get the three points 🔴⚪

That performance was Holden-esque sadly. I said one of the worst things about stupidly sacking Nige when we did was the pressure that would be on the new guy. Most City fans want Nige back so a slow start would turn toxic fast. Well we’ve seen it start already, because that performance was painful on the eye.

It would probably have been the same with NP still here.

Atkinson is playing tonight for the U21s so we'll see how far off he is.

Benarous may also play as he's been training for some time.

Another returnee in Joe Williams 💪 and no fresh injuries. Joe takes J. James spot on the bench (though, as in LM’s first game, we name 8 subs so J. James could’ve stayed on the bench but it’s neither here nor there).

QPR was dropped points imo, especially given we have some challenging fixtures now. But a win today and all looks rosy again, and the LM era is truly underway. Let’s make some noise today everyone. 🔴⚪

We’ve had whole months less eventful than that match! Jubilation to fear to despair to jubilations to nerves to relief (and a little more jubilation). Welcome to City Liam Manning, what a way to bank win number 1.

No new knocks and Williams successfully reintroduced.

No new injuries or returns tonight. Pring is suspended as we knew but we don’t replace him in the MD squad, instead naming 7 subs tonight.

A draw would be a really good result. A win would be a statement. COYR 🔴⚪

We didn’t need to lose that one. And to compound a painful Wednesday, our only back up centre-back and back up left-back did his hammie. Small squads are cute on paper, not something we’ll ever be able to pull off with how we accrue injuries.

Also - did Sykes pull up before being subbed? My dad saw something he thinks. Leave him off for now.

I’m struggling a bit with all this since Nige was sacked so unjustly. Hard to get behind it all. Ah well. Life isn’t just football I guess!

Vyner seemed to hobble after a sprint but played on.

Something wrong at the HPC as I’ve been told that these injures are not just first team as it is now common knowledge that there are 7 academy players out with injuries-never has this been seen at club and surely not coincidence, maybe too much on these deco pitches or too much build up of muscle in gym

I had a lot to say last weekend as all the frustration of the NP sacking came to a head for me. But as I’ve said a million times, none of it is Manning’s fault. So I’m gonna just get behind this now.

It’s an… interesting lineup but I’ll stick my neck out and say, it feels like whenever a team sheet goes out the fans don’t like we play a blinder.

No new injuries, no new returns. COYR.

Entirely the same group of players for the third Matchday in a row. Unheard of consistency for us! I like it. Hopefully my mood will be lifted ever further by three points tonight and maybe a returnee or two on Saturday? Hopefully not asking too much! COYR. 🔴⚪

Great result and I’m so bloody happy for LM. Hope he hasn’t mistaken anger towards the board for anger towards him. Some situation he’s walked into but that’s how to settle things down! 🔴⚪

No new knocks despite the players going to WAR for the badge today. And - because we didn’t ever have to chase the game we didn’t have to rush Wells on, so he gets another week of prep time before he returns.

To lighten up a bit; not injuries, but old age;

Two very old men, Mike and Joe, have been friends all of their lives.
When it's clear that Joe is dying, Mike visits him every day. One day Mike says, "Joe, we both loved football all our lives, and we played football on Sundays together for so many years. Please do me one favour, when you get to Heaven, somehow you must let me know if there's football there."
Joe looks up at Mike from his death bed," Mike, you've been my best friend for many years. If it's at all possible, I'll do this favour for you.
Shortly after that, Joe passes on.
At midnight a couple of nights later, Mike is awakened from a sound sleep by a blinding flash of white light and a voice calling out to him, "Mike--Mike."
"Who is it? Asks Mike sitting up suddenly. "Who is it?"
"Mike--it's me, Joe."
"You're not Joe. Joe just died."
"I'm telling you, it's me, Joe," insists the voice."
"Joe! Where are you?"
"In heaven", replies Joe.. "I have some really good news and a little bad news."
"Tell me the good news first ," says Mike.
"The good news," Joe says," is that there's football in heaven. Better yet, all of our old friends who died before us are here, too. Better than that, we're all young again. Better still, it's always spring time and it never rains or snows. And best of all, we can play football all we want, and we never get tired."
That's fantastic," says Mike. "It's beyond my wildest dreams! So what's the bad news?

Latest injury news ahead of tomorrow from Liam Manning's press conference:
Ross McCrorrie- Back in early January

Andy King- Closer than others along with McCrorrie

Kal Naismith- On treadmill but a little while away

Rob Atkinson- Jan at some point, back on grass soon

Haydon Roberts- Not far until he is back on grass, return in Jan

A couple of players suffering with illness so will be reviewed tomorrow.

Seems quite a lot of injured players back in Jan all being well. Good news about Ross, will be great to get him back!

Well… not sure what to say. That winner is the most I’ve lost my head at the Gate in an age. Jumping around and hugging strangers has never felt sweeter!

Conway seemed to take a knock but was well enough to run off so probably nothing thankfully.

Hugging strangers and dancing all over the place is fine when scoring such an important goal , it was the love bites and giving your phone number is the problem 🙈

Sunderland, Hull, Watford… 9 points?! Stunning from City. And to thump Watford? We rarely get to sit back and relax watching City… I was doing just that after super Andi Weimann made it safe. Phenomenal from LM and the team, GET IN. 🔴⚪

I think all came through unscathed as a welcome bonus!

It’s my ‘Christmas day’ today since family were working the 25th, hence no pre match update today. But no headlines, same 20 players as Watford away.

Sadly no Christmas gift from City for me, big physical teams in a low block remain our kryptonite for now. A little frustrating to beat good teams then play poorly at a bad one, but 10 points from 4 means it’s hard to be too upset.

No new knocks that I saw!
