Talksport praising Cornick

Rightfully so, he played well in the time he had. I still think he's a good player but we've been struggling in attack so he's not been able to show his quality, today we looked much better coming forward and had cooled our attacks when he came on and he still gave a lot.

Yeah I'll take that or would have pre game.

The finishing first half left a bit to be desired but can't really fault anyone.

Penalty first half, disallowed goal, backpass potentially picked up by Hull missed- officials did us few favours.

Weimann that is a shame. Let's let him have a proper rest if not too serious until the West Brom game.

Good point- battled hard & it was the minimum we deserved.

Cornick showed his value as a sub, Max made a couple of decent saves & delighted for Nakhi to get his first league goal in some while.

Brilliant assist by Sykes, he is such a valuable squad player.

Gutted for Andi, probably best he rests up until the international break.

Real shame for those who thought we’d get beat & not have a shot on target, eh?

Right. So we played well and achieved an excellent point away from home against a big spending decent team.

However…

No wins in the last two games.

I’m not sure what we do here. Do we meltdown or not?!

Why do you keep saying big spending? We’ve spent more in the summer?

Good performance, but two points dropped for me. Sykes, Williams and Cornick all failed to take golden chances to win it. Knight looked superb and Naismith’s vision helps.

Wells should have had 3! Sykes MOM for me

Cornick needed to pass it, the angle he had he was never going to score

Good point, much better performance wise.

Just an observation though and it’s not necessarily a criticism. Nige has said he wants us to progress more on the possession front. But right now, this team I don’t see it.

We’re so much better playing with pace, down the sides. I don’t think we’re good enough yet to be playing from the back and Max pinging balls to either full back.

We’ve lost the ball on a few occasions doing that now.

Immediate thoughts

Enjoyed our performance, attitude and work rate. We looked a totally different team from the home games against PNE and Brum.

Certainly deserved a point and tbh with the number of excellent chances we created we could have won it. The team overall played well, I’d single out Sykes as MotM, thought he was dangerous and his assist was superb. Zak threw in a couple of very sloppy passes late on (hoped he had eradicated them from his game)

A huge shout out to the 408 traveling fans brilliant effort and support.

A very good point against a team who expected to record a home win.

Thought we played fairly well and could have won that by 2 clear goals.

We need a striker.

Still the odd error at the back which leaves us open.

Of the chances we missed, Williams is CMF and Sykes is RMF , Wells as central striker had a decent game. Scored and one chalked off very late on. We have little money and a great prospect out injured.

It ain't gonna happen.

I’m not sure the pass was on for Cornick, the angle was narrowing, but he scores that if lifts it.

Sykes did well, as did most of them. Not MOTM for me after blazing that sitter over the bar.

Loans aren’t free you know. Clearly they’re spanking loads on loan fees and wages. Just because they’re not published, doesn’t mean they’re not there.

Easier to do that on the road IMO.

Fully fit Atkinson Naismith and Scott had we kept him would progress the possession side I reckon. Well Scott has gone but certainly Atkinson LCB and Naismith midfielder or is he best at centre back.

Yeah, we certainly look a perfect outfit to be playing away from home.

That was actually a very enjoyable game minus the opening 15.

End to end, plenty of chances, some good saves by both keepers and I think we probably did enough to say we deserved all 3 points - though they’d probably make just as convincing argument that they deserved it
