The Original OTIB
Sorting out a boiler problem today and noted what appears to be an expansion vessel labelled Varem Bovolenta. Italian, apparently, sounding like a no nonsense centre back to me. Put me in mind of when I used to think footballer every time I saw a Hertz Van Rental vehicle. Dutch winger for me. Any others suggested by everyday items? Should lighten the mood away from the Lansdown/Pearson conspiracy nonsense. 3

pongo88
Melton Mowbray (the home of wonderful pork pies) sounds like a rather upmarket sort of person. Far to upper class to play precessional football but, possibly, could play as an amateur got Corinthian Casuals

WWred
Bradley Stoke - Definitely a tough tackling Left Back, deemed to short to play his preferred position at Centre Back. Forged a very successful career in Leagues 1 & 2 but found his big move to the Championship a bit to much of a step up 1
Lanterne Rouge
I always imagined Priestly Farquharson who plays for Walsall was the owner of a stately home in Suffolk who has had to call in Sherlock Holmes to solve a particularly tricky jewel theft.
