If that is the case, and I guess if Dollymarie says so it is true, then it is quite staggeringly amateur for no statement to come out of the club.

Come on JL, it is up to you.  Please respond

It was only last week. I guess they’re working out how to communicate it. It depends on the situation which is anyone’s guess at this stage. ‘Sacked’ was the word I heard on Saturday, rather than resigned. I wouldn’t jump to a Lansdown bashing conclusion on this one.

Amazed that no one has yet speculated that he is going because the commute is too much, he has family matters he would rather focus on or he has been offered a better job elsewhere.

The last few months have been pretty toxic on here with the SL slagging.

I think somebody mentioned illness earlier in the thread.

Agreed, it’s as if most on here can’t wait to get on SL’s back, let’s wait and see what the reason is for him leaving before we put any more knives in

Appreciate there is dislike for SL on here from some, but lets wait to hear what the reason/s are for this. Could be something we'd all understand and support.

100%.

I’d be absolutely delighted if SL sold up tomorrow but if true (& this appears to be so) then there are several explanations as to why someone in their 60s might leave a job that might not be sinister & could potentially be sensitive.

Weird that people wanted Ashton out early and slagged off Lansdown for not getting him out. But potentially our new CEO is leaving and maybe sacked and Lansdown is crap blah blah.. without knowing any real details.

Typical club bashing as always by some. It could be so many different reasons if true. Gross misconduct, Resigned, Illness, Takeover and plenty other scenarios.

Let's just wait and see without bringing out the pitchforks or bedsheets straight away eh?

I didn’t warm to PA but I suspect this is another damning indictment of SL’s reign. The sooner he goes, the better

Pisses me right off that finally things are moving in right direction on the pitch, but off the pitch it’s a complete and utter shambles. Lansdowns out.

Any chance you could actually wait until we know the details before getting the pitchforks out?

I stopped reading at “weird that people wanted Ashton out”.

Bloke was a ***.

Maybe, but the speed that this has happened after recent public appearances, would point to a sacking imo.

So, cash in the bank from a record sale, wage budget curbed, manager with only months left on his contract and now CEO gone...sale/new ownership imminent or just one big omnishables?

No one knows why he's gone (or even gone officially), so who knows?

If there is no notice period, it might strongly suggest kicked out (for whatever reason).

Might make SOTC interesting tomorrow.

personally will wait and see. Looking forward to visiting for Plymouth on Tuesday night and more concerned about what happens on the field than waht may or may not have happened off it....

Everything that happens on the field is supported and derived from what happens off it. Clubs in turmoil behind the scenes rarely do well on the pitch in the long term.

We don't all need to experts on boardroom politics and financial matters, but we should all care that it's being done right.

Alexander leaving means we're onto potentially our 4th CEO in two and a half years. Ashton left on 31 May 2021, Gould at the end of January 2023, and now Alexander. However you cut it, it's not exactly stability.

Struggling to think why.

Bloke couldn’t have been more pro SL in his media outings if he took tips from North Korea.

Seemed from this distance to be doing exactly what was expected, spinning that total nonsense about “still ambitious”, “top six”, “competitive budget”,  “Luton are the latest club we are trying to copy”..

Stability of ownership, manager and head of development more important and we have that - would have preferred if RG had stayed but ECB came calling and that's a huge role. New CEO has not been in place long enough to be missed.

We don’t have details yet but am surprised how many people seem really attached to Alexander and are furious about this.

Has he done that good a job so far? Too early to tell really but can’t say I’m overly fussed.

Think many are using it to push an anti SL agenda without knowing any facts.

Has to be towing the party line and be fully signed up to Lansdown Inc behind the scenes too. There was some noises he, like others before him, was troubled by the footballing operation.

One thing for sure, is there is nowhere to hide for Steve and Jon now, and one of them needs to give a statement on this & a general footballing update.

Fair enough but that wouldn’t necessarily suggest a sacking, would it?

More like sod this, I’m off..

Things appear good on the pitch. So long as that’s the case, I’m not entirely that bothered who our CEO is. A bit meh for me. Certainly not gonna lose any sleep over it.

Bit short term sighted. Especially if we continue with cost cutting, it’ll eventually show on the pitch
