22A
Anyone watch SSN between 1.00 & 2.00? The pundits were discussing City's next manager and showed the betting odds. Paul Merson summed it all up, that although City have promising youngsters, the best are continually sold off with little investment in replacements. It was also mentioned that if a team signs a "name" as manager, it puts that club in the public's eye. "I never used to look for Birmingham's results, but with Wayne Rooney there, I do". Things haven't really improved much at either since he left have they? Frank wouldn't have to deal with the issue of leaving 18 players out of a match day squad here. He wouldn't need to rebuild a team. He wouldn't need time to input his tactics and culture to the team. It's all already there for him. I don't think he's ever really had that in his management career. Come on. Both teams, particularly Chelsea, had good players. And a decent size squad. he didn’t manage Sheffield United or Luton! Took a couple of selfies with him but can't upload them because my laptop/phone/tablet isn't working. Very excited to be taking on the role of puppet head coach and has been promised a £50m war chest to get us up. He thought Jon was funny as his nose started getting longer when he mentioned the war chest but he said FACT in capital letters afterwards so Lamps (cos that's what his mates call him) believed him. Reckons it will be announced on the 31st November. You heard it here first! 2 1

Harry R
If the club didn't even want to meet Lampard, which you'd do as a courtesy even if you were sceptical about him as a candidate, they must be close to appointing someone else. Even more so if they had a meeting in the diary and then cancelled it. If they're not close with someone else, but cancelled Lampard anyway, that's pretty incompetent. Whatever you think of him as a manager, he's a credible candidate.

I am angry, and I will no longer support those that have done it, or had a hand in it. It's not even just about NP. It's how they have behaved for years. I want them gone. And a reasoned response, thanks. I don’t share the anger, even if there’s lots about the decision that puzzles me, and lots about the way the club’s being run right now that frustrates me. But I have been angry about things in the past, and you make a good case for why you’re angry. I suppose that after years of frustration (more pre-Lansdown than since to be honest) I’ve come to the conclusion that the the best approach is the theory (it’s probably got a name!) that it’s more productive to focus on the things you can control, or that you can influence. Rather than on the things you have no control or influence over. And that getting angry over things you’ve got no control over rarely delivers anything but more frustration! I understand that you and I and everyone on here all support the club. And I understand the argument for the long term future of the club being better served by another owner. But whether or when that happens is entirely outside our control and getting angry about it won’t change that. Whereas, in the meantime, what we can influence/control is the support we give to the new manager, whoever it is, and to the players, whichever regime they’re associated with,
