Gardner-Hickman growing nicely into the CM role for me. I've never liked flair players too much, but Mehmeti is next level frustrating. Ducks out of every challenge and seems to very very rarely take someone on successfully. Maybe I'm a cynic

This is probably why NP didn't fancy him.

Two pretty even teams, even with the red card the game could have gone either way.

Both teams lacking quality once they get over the half way line, wish we had a bit of purpose about us when we get one v one with defenders or can play someone in behind. The pass is on but rarely ever played.

You could have thrown a blanket on their midfield and striker they were defending so narrow in the first half, they knew we wouldn't break them down through the middle without Naismith. Opened up a bit after the red card.

Good game from Max after a few dodgy early passes, commanded the box and what a save to keep us in front from that free kick.

Some decent performances but a lot of slow predictable possession isn't going to hurt the better sides in this division.

Phew a home win, just!

That was quite painful to watch, but I’m delighted with three points.

Bearing in mind we faced 10 men for an hour and they are bottom of the table we really did make very hard work of that.

Throughout the game we looked to be playing very cautiously with the ball going square or backwards, far too often, and at quite a pedestrian pace. Wednesday had plenty of time to organize themselves, and when they were on the wall, they looked more likely to create something, to be honest, and did so with a number of really good opportunities. Other than Sam Bell’s  astonishing miss, I can’t remember too many clear cut chances that we created.

If our new Head Coach was watching that, they will know they have quite a lot of work to do, especially IMO around creative moments that create chances. Thought Gardner-Hickman put in a great shift and Max kept us in it with the save towards the end.

Overall, it was quite frustrating to watch, but a home win, nevertheless.

Hickman definitely has something there 👍

Is the Boy Blunder at the game?

He was. In a bright red coat and a city scarf (so hardly trying to go unnoticed) in his Dad's box. Flanked by Lisa Knights and Mark Kelly amongst others.

Largely uninspiring, perhaps the new manager will break away from playing a front 3, it does not suit our forwards other than perhaps Cornick

In fairness, I think it does suit many of our forwards.

Conway is good through the centre of a 3, as is Wells.

Sykes, Mehmeti, and Bell are fine out wide. In fact, I'd argue that wide in a front 3 is the only position Bell can play.

Whilst Conway has been injured (and other injuries have moved Sykes to RB), I think it's a general lack of quality in the front 3 that's been the bigger issue.

Exactly, it’s the same football as Pearson! I’ve no idea why people have this idea that we were playing tika taka football under him, it’s bizarre.

Who mentioned tika taka? It’s all good though cos the new man will come in, won’t have to spend a penny and it’s HMS Piss the League (see, we can all talk shit).

I'm sure I saw Steve singing "Jon Lansdown out" and at one point he definitely was singing "I don't know what I'm doing".

If only. He wasn't even at the match today. Not that this is unusual btw.

Pearson gone singing was embarrassing. Then slagging off the man who pays the bills son because he didn’t accept mid table mediocrity. We don’t deserve better with attitudes like that.

For the game. No red would have meant no points. Scraped by bottom of the league with one win after they played with 10 for an hour. Awful football again but fair play to Fleming making attacking changes that I am sure his predecessor would not have made. Well done Curtis Flemings cider army

Honestly the football is ******* dire

The way Pearson was treated and how it was handled was a disgrace - but - let’s be honest, the football is dreadful and has been for some time

Just what will you do on a Saturday when we are winning everything?

Well fingers crossed we lose eh?

Oh! Dear Never Mind🤣

A Mr Pearson inspired trio of substitutions gives Mr Fleming the win. 3 points.

Except that it was a regular occurrence for NP to change the front three, at about 60 mins.

Except that he was keeping Mehmeti from minutes and keeping the dire Weimann on often. Benching Bell was a bit of genius too and having him as the impact player off the bench. Well done Curtis:clap:

Going by all the moaning today anyone could be forgiven that due to financial restrictions we have a squad that works hard but lacks quality. Obviously that’s not the case, just need a new Manager to come in, spend no money and turn it round over the international break. Piece of piss.

He's our equivalent of the Scarlett Pimpernel.

They seek him here, they seek him there.

Would be great if he disappeared for ever.

Saw today we have some quality if used correctly. This isn’t the lower half of the table side NP made it look. So excited for the future

Enjoyed the game, City played well imo. and not sure why some are saying it was rubbish - it really wasn't. I liked the crisp passing and the patient build ups, no hopeless long balls.

Bell should have got the second with no doubt about it - it was a pathetic miss, would have made the game a lot easier and put us under a bit of pressure late on.

Well pleased with the performance and the 3 points.

Pearson didn’t - and he wouldn’t have either
