Popular Post Bs4Red
Looked excellent tonight, first 10/15 was a little rusty but partnership with Tanner looked great, forward thinking and drives with the ball. Can see him being a massive player for us. 33

steveybadger
Thought on a few occasions he looked very rusty but boy did I like the positive intent! Not knocking George to be clear. Edited January 16 by steveybadger

BCFCGav
Will have meant a lot to him tonight, his first start in a match since May or whatever, against a team in the top 6 of the Prem. A really challenging 6 months is over and he’s done really well. He’ll be on top of the world. Well in Ross ️ 8

Red Army 87
Very assured and aggressive with the ball - you can see what he can bring to the team when fully up to speed.
mozo
I think it was a really sensible selection from Manning. It gave Tanner a defensive partner, but alas height and directness. I'm surprised we didn't see more crosses aimed at him at the back post. He did look rusty though.
GrahamC
Like the fact he gives us an aerial option on the right, especially from goal kicks. Certainly a competitor & adds to our squad depth. Couldn’t have picked a better night for his home debut & did well. 6
KingHillRed
Big tank of a lad, think he'll find his place at full back eventually but certainly liked what we saw and liked his interview on the radio after too, seems like he's been through the mill and ready to make amends
And Its Smith
Despite the rustiness it was clear to see he’s going to be a fans favourite. Moves very well with the ball
Dredd
Thought he was great for a first start after a long time out. No coincidence that Tanner had his best game for ages. Lots of good talking too.
watkins1983
Superb tonight, listened to his interview on bbc Bristol on the way home in the car and he says he’s still only at 80%
petehinton
Sounded quite emotional in his interviews. Was almost like he wanted to just say “you honestly have no idea how hard it’s been” Hes going to be a huge asset, even just based on today’s 60. Pace, power, and glides with the ball.
Simon bristol
Did really well in his first game,, big lad, like pring on the otherside. Im not sure theres going to be a lot of goal threat from them, but both strong powerful runners and pretty aggressive too

Ecko
Very good performance and seems to have a nasty, aggressive side to him. A very encouraging home debut.
marcofisher
Curious to see what happens with the team now he is back. I, like most, thought he would eventually replace Tanner, but I think we have looked far better going forward with 5 at the back in these two cup matches (Bell was also sharp at wing back first leg). I now think that we may stick with the back 5 and play both Tanner and McRorie
Merrick's Marvels
A decent start. Looks like he's a talker and leader and obviously a strong physical type. All attributes that will make us better. And thanks to Jonathan Pearce for confirming what the actual problem was - a pelvic bone infection. Ouch.

Whoosh! The reason for the laughter was you cannot miss something you've never had. It's like me saying I've missed sleeping with Natalie Portman. No one was doubting the impact McCrorie would have when he eventually played, but you carry on with the self congratulations. I had a great evening. Thanks. 1

I had a great evening. Thanks. We did have him. We signed him in the summer. He then picked up this infection. I said "we will not realise how much we've missed him until he plays" Had he not got the infection then he would have obviously played. If you look back at games this season now. You can see where we have missed him. So yes it is possible to miss a player of ours not playing.

You mention Bristol Boy (Ian Gay) and where you do compare is your revisionism.

TommyD68
Looks like he we’ve added another leader on the pitch as well which is an added bonus! Great interview… and how refreshing to hear someone from the club openly admit how good a manager and person big Nige was, and also say that Liam is a good coach too. If only the tossers who run this club could have been so gracious. 9 1
