Thought the rules were 15% of total capacity up to a max of 9k?

We should be closer to 4.5k

Also needs addressing why were being hit for £17 when they had it as a tenner. 🤬

Basically City have to pay for all the tickets for whatever allocation we have. So if we ask for 4.5k tickets and only sell 3k then City still need to pay for the 1.5k tickets that are not sold.

Yes thats really annoyed me.

A Forest fan in one of the group chats I’m in seems to think this is a SAG/police decision.
2800 was all Blackpool were offered in round 3 as well.

How are away end allocations calculated in the FA Cup?

The calculation is quite simple in the FA Cup.

Prior to the semi-final and final, which are played at Wembley, visiting clubs are allowed up to 15 per cent of all tickets for the stadium they are playing at.

That is unless 15 per cent of the stadium exceeds 9,000. So clubs travelling to Old Trafford, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the London Stadium and the Emirates Stadium will have their allocations capped at 9,000, unless the home clubs are willing to offer more.

Despite the calculation seeming quite simple, there are still a few stipulations.

The visiting club must make a request for the amount of tickets they would like for their fans within four days of the draw. More often than not, teams will request the full 15 per cent but, in some scenarios, they will take fewer tickets than they are allowed.

In the instance that not all away tickets are sold by the visiting club, the remaining tickets must be returned to the home club on or (preferably) before the day of the match.

The tickets in the away end are not the only ones that are accessible to the visiting club. They are also entitled to a third of seats usually reserved and known as “home and visiting directors’ seats” up to a maximum of 24 seats.

The disabled facilities must also be separated. The visiting club have the right to claim 15 per cent of those seats as well.

Visiting clubs will not always be guaranteed 15 per cent of the seats throughout the stadium, though.

The Safety Advisory Group (SAG) must also agree to the away allocation that has been proposed. The SAG is made up of representatives of services including the police, fire, ambulance and building authority.

For fixtures that pose risks to health and safety, they can choose to decrease allocations for visiting clubs

That's not correct, see above

You would be correct in we would take a hit if physical tickets were printed and then returned

Typically extra tickets can be asked for, if demand is there.

Does this not apply in this case?

I note Blackpool had the same limited allocation. The fact it appears NF are not reciprocating prices is a very poor show!

That will because City decided to charge £10 for season ticket holders to attend while Forest have decided on £17, it’s as simple as that.

The first taste of if we ever get to the prem - premiership greed that’s why there charging £17

if you read in one of the threads a forest fan says how much he enjoyed the gate / atmosphere etc etc then went on to say it’s ok when you get to the prem but it comes a huge cost and he doesn’t just mean money , limited away tickets , kick off times , plastic fans and an almighty bias to the big 6 teams , funny I was chatting to some brum fans a fair few years ago after they had been to the prem they said exactly the same thing - much preferred the championship

double edged sword and all that 🙈🤷

It's the 4th round of the FA Cup with the prospect of Man Utd in the next round. I'd be surprised if it even made general sale.

I’m in scrumpy’s camp , 1800k I reckon , saying that though our support this season has been very decent , would happy to eat a large slice of humble pie 🍰🍴😬

Not so sure..lot of interest in it as far as I can gather...spoke to quite a few today that are planning on going, some that don't go away very often...its the prize of the opponents in the 5th round that's creating the interest. If we had drawn Luton, Plymouth, Leeds etc we probably would have struggled to sell out.

It's a bit unpredictable for sure. It's certainly a winnable game, but we've played them in recent years and they aren't an attractive Premier League side.

I personally cannot go, even without extra time and traffic I don't see I would be getting home before 1am. I got to be at work at 6am, no chance of getting time off or swopping shifts as the rotas have been published and so set in stone as such. I can't be the only one working the next day in a job where there is no hiding or easy days?

Completely agree with you Kev. The idea of reaching The Prem is great, but the reality is often how you have described it.

I’ll be amazed if it even makes members sale, I’m not expecting to be able to get a ticket.

I assume the bit about selling tickets re allocation is true though as Liverpool got 4000 2 years ago so it’s not a logistical issue in the ground (albeit they had to move st holders to accommodate them)

So, with two games left to play, the replays are:

Forest v City

Southampton v Watford

Plymouth v Leeds

Villa v Chelsea

Coventry v Wednesday

Half a chance of ours being on TV? Villa v Chelsea & Plymouth v Leeds will be on I`m sure but provided there`s a winner in Newport v Man Utd & Blackburn v Wrexham I reckon there`s a chance.

With only us and Villa v Chelsea on the Wednesday (the other ties being played on the Tuesday), I assume we won't be on TV?

Nigeria v Cameroon tonight

Senegal v Ivory Coast Monday

Senegal should beat Ivory Coast so Willy Boly, Serge Aurier and Ibrahim Sangare should be back for the replay.

Every little helps, as Ivory Coast went through tonight to the next round. Got t9 hang around for a bit longer.

I never understand why £10 ticket price difference is the factor in taking 3,000 or 1,000

£50 travel. no it’s not

£35 on food and drink. Don’t you eat or drink when you don’t go to a away game?

8 hours out of your day. It’s called leisure time, you charge yourself for that?

Villa Vs Chelsea is nailed on to be the main game on, but they do sometimes have options on the BBC/ITV players don't they.
So outside chance, but we won't be on the main channel , that's for sure.

You don't HAVE to have food and drink, take sandwiches. I never understand the need for eating food at games...........especially at home ?

There is the potential to push the Villa V Chelsea replay to the Thursday as Villa are playing on the Sunday after and Chelsea not until the Monday.

If anyone with a ST doesn't want to go I'd happily buy a ticket from them!

If not, I'll have to try my luck in the morning but I'm working somewhere with limited phone/internet so need to set an alarm to remember 🤣

I do find it odd that it looks like City expected less demand for this game, then put in a higher requirement for the first sale period than they did for West Ham? That was just straight up ST holders in one go wasn't it?

Think it should have been members with 5 aways at the same time as STHs with 5 aways to be honest, but I'm conscious that us exiles who go more away than home always come off worse in these scenarios

I would think there will be plenty to buy tomorrow, they're not exactly flying out.

I also think some will be buying these with a view, to not actually attend but get another away trip on their record. At £17, it's a cheap way to do it.

Thinking ahead to a limited allocation for Plymouth away, it is likely you will need 6+ away trips to be in the first group that are able to buy, and could sell out before reaching remaining ST holders.

There will be plenty available tomorrow morning for members, and there'll be availability when it comes to general sale also.

The requirement of 5+ for a 4hr window was presumably done to ensure those that have been to more away games had first shout.

When it comes to Plymouth, the small allocations means the priority window is more likely to be around 10+ away games.

Only ST holders who have been to more away games - although I'm not disputing the fairness of this as such, I understand the STH will always (rightfully so) have a priority - but members who have been away have no further reward than someone who buys a membership tonight.

I can't complain, I benefitted against Man Utd and City by being able to by a half ST and get priority so swings and roundabouts!

An STH has bought me a ticket now anyway so I'm going. Were 800 left at 4ish when he did that

Fair play. Glad to hear you've got a ticket.

I'm a little surprised we've not sold out but then on the other hand we do have a lot of games coming up and a potential tie against Man Utd which won't be cheap.

I think if it would have been a tenner it would have sold out by now. I think that extra 7 quid put a few off on top of all the other expenses of travelling. It was a consideration of mine but as I know we're going to win the Fa Cup this year then I want a 100% attendance record in it 😂😂

But I still think it eventually will sell out.

Will hopefully result in an influx in ticket sales today. Would be surprised if we completely sold out, but should be taking in excess of 2k for this. Could potentially be our last important game of the season.

Last posting day was yesterday. From today it’s collection only, which is a pain as an exile who can’t make the Leeds match on Friday. Couldn’t the club have extended the postal deadline by a couple of days? 8 days before the game seems a bit extreme.

Max allocation will be 2800 but I'm not sure what the initial allocation was - 2100 ?

575 left according to the site.

I agree it sounds strange but I thought it was to avoid the club having to pay for all those tickets if they go unsold.

I don’t know? Either way I still think 1500 sold so far is pretty decent.

Fair enough, may have already been added. If so that would be excellent support from us IF we are taking 2k+ up to Nottingham on a Wednesday night.

Social media and piss taking never care for context though

Given how many games we've had recently people have to make a choice. I chose Forest over Cov (even though I've been City Ground but not been Cov's ground)

I've chosen Southampton over Leeds, but even that's up in the air at the moment as I'll also want to go if we beat Forest.

Been an expensive year already following City!

400 tickets currently left for Forest

I'm going. I've never been to Forest, it's only just over an hour's drive for me, and I try to get to the games I can get to. I went last night as well for similar reasons.

When you live 3hrs from Bristol and can't get to every game then you learn not to pick the glamour games, you just pick games that work!

(Technically the cup games have added 3 games to the schedule as we will always play the first 3rd round FA Cup game).

Seems like 2100 may be right with the prospect of another 800 if they sell could be right;

Visiting supporters are housed on one side of the lower tier of the Bridgford Stand (towards the Brian Clough Stand), where around 2,000 fans can be accommodated. The facilities and view of the action in this stand are good. If demand requires it then an additional 1,000 away supporters can be seated in a lower block of the Brian Clough Stand. The view of the game is good from this section and the leg room is ample too.
