Admin Ian M Posted February 2 Admin Share Posted February 2 Our biggest problem is the number of times we take a directed first touch but then the Leeds players are at the location of the ball the same time as our player in possession is and oftentimes they are then stronger than our player and the ball is turned over.

Ball retention is poor with many an unforced error putting us back under pressure. I’d like to see something more and of credibility from McCrorie. Leeds are showing the levels needed to play this kind of football. And the money required to be very very good at it They've also showed what happens when you aren't clinical. A sell back option might be a good idea to implement, but would that be cost effective to introduce for 3 or 4 games a season? A mate has a season ticket for him and his son at WHU. He can upgrade the son’s ticket to an adult ticket for the midweek school night games that his son does not go to, but then they’re getting 40000 a week and not 22000. And the money required to be very very good at it It's important to remember though that to get promoted, or to finish top 6, you don't actually have to be as good as Leeds or Leicester. You just have to be as good as Hull, West Brom, Sunderland this season. Leeds are pressing fast and consistently, which forces us to make fast passes, and so increases the chance of us making errors. They're then incredible in transition which allows them to turn those mistakes into attacks. It's hard to watch but we don't have to get to this level next season to stand a chance of a top 6 finish. 3

Spike
Watching back that penalty call, I'd have to say we're very lucky not to have given away that penalty. What's frustrating is seeing how easily they are stringing passes together in our area. Our biggest issue is that we can't hold onto the ball without going backwards and Leeds have pace so they are closing down fast forcing us to lose the ball, essentially they're using our own tactics against us but doing it a lot more effectively. I know our fans want a front two but it seems pointless when we can't even get the ball up the pitch, I'd much rather see us have a 5 and get a hold of the ball in the second half.

I realise this won't go down well with his fan club who can't bare anything other than effusive praise for him, but saying the shots were at him isn't a knock on Max (though it will probably be claimed as such), it's the reality of them. He's done all he needs to do right, and so is doing well, but the reason Leeds aren't ahead is down to poor finishing rather than good goalkeeping.
George Rs
Only having 2 in midfield has cost us so far, especially with the Leeds players being a step quicker across the pitch. Summerville on tanners heels the whole half and it nearly cost us. Feel like we need 3 in the middle just to gain some control, thought knight and Mccrorie have both done well. Spun their man a couple of times but there’s no support whenever they go forward. LM needs to change something, wonder what he’ll do! 1
old_eastender
We have to change something, our midfield is just being overrun. Perhaps TGH on for Tanner, to to a back 4 with McCrorie RB. Better Red
Manning needs to come up with some change at half time otherwise it’s only going way. Need something to change in formation. ProfitInMyPocket
We still got the patterns and behaviours so we'll be alright. They're pressing us man for man at every opportunity and we're not being brave enough on the ball to ride the challenge and play positively. Think every player has had the ball pinched off them. That Firpo is a liability defensively and the one time we got at him we won a freekick. We are frightened they are going to get caught out but if we don't step up they'll eventually take a chance.
