Positives from today

If I was George Tanner I’d be thinking that was a very good one to miss & I’d expect to start the next game.

Cam Pring same thing..

Mark Sykes is available again.

A free week.

That’s it really.

There weren’t any positives today was typical City. Two very decent wins followed by a performance like today.

What is about team below us that are desperate for points that City seem to lose to?

As expected QPR stopped us getting wide and limited our midfield options and we just couldn’t find a way to break them down. I don’t recall Begovic making a save. It was all very disappointing………:disapointed2se:

He made one save from a shot straight at him from Mehmeti first half and that was the end of his exertions

Shirt was nice

Robins tv was honest

..........

Ends there doesn't it?

We fell back into the ideology of doesn't work with this squad football. And got progressively worse by doing it badly.

We were out coached: (it's ok to admit that sometimes) why.

A. If we we were leggy, well that's no excuse. Been hearing all week about the new strength in depth. Leggy was a choice with all the modern data available.

B. QPR begged Manning to play to his patience and chess ideology....and he did. Energy gone, in their faces gone, chess board on the floor gone.

Take the lessons and be better

.........

And as for the players, they just weren't at it. It was almost as if they believed their own hype a little bit. That because we were better , the better quality would shine eventually.

Well it didn't, we allowed a team there for the taking to grow in confidence, and earn a comfortable win

Take the lesson and be better

.........

Tuesday was why you watch football, today was wondering why you bother sometimes. if you have your eyes on the playoffs you just can't be that extreme that often.

Can’t believe Tanner got dropped

Unbelievable decision. I know he wants to see McCrorie play but theres no way Tanner deserved that. Atleast hes had a rest. Scandalous if hes not in the team next week.

Other positive. I dont have to see that kit again. Embarrassingly tinpot to celebrate winning a game 50 years ago with a kit. Winning a league title, cup etc, absolutely. But we are very tinpot tbf!

I like the kit. If I buy one I’ll never need to buy a rubbish kit preseason again.

However I do somewhat agree with your comment. We once beat Leeds in a Cup Tie 50 years ago does rather highlight who we are!

I didn’t.

Hope we never do these silly ‘one off’ kits again.

We always lose.

😂

Didn’t against Fulham.

However we weren’t allowed to watch football in person for about 16 months after that game..

Trouble is we have to celebrate the odd thing while we're all still alive

Apparently Liam now has much needed time on the training game to help train a Plan B. When we win, it’s because he’s changed things for the better, when we lose, it’s because he hasn’t had time to change things 😙

When the opposition focus on their own game predominantly we often get a result. When they focus on stopping us playing we have an abysmal record.

😂. True. Plus im guessing 3/4 of people in the ground werent even alive to know about 1974 so its verging on completely pointless.

After sitting through today, waiting another 16 months til the next game would be a positive!

I never understand why any City fan would want a City manager sacked.

Because we would like to have hope.  Hope is what Nige gave us, Manning is beginning to give me the opposite.

PS. My original post was also a little tongue in cheek, because it is a truism  for 90% of ‘managers’.

Really ?

Pulis, Osman, Lumsden, LJ

Really.

And that’s just my point: surely what we should want is for them to succeed: for the next game to be the one they turn the corner, to find the way for the Boro and Soton games to become the norm. Getting to the point where they’re sacked just means we’ve failed, and brings a whole load of upheaval.

My view is that pretty much every City manager in my (long) time watching City has wanted what’s best for City and has worked to bring us success. I’ll support them in that as long as they’re in post.

And yes, that includes Lumsden and most certainly includes LJ.

Pulis wanted what gave him most money. Osman wanted what was best for Osman. So I’ll give you those two. But they are the exceptions that prove the rule.

I think you’ve got our demographic wrong there! I’m pretty sure 75% of those sitting near me were born before 1974.

Tbh I wanted LJ sacked well before it happened.

I wasn’t surprised, and at that moment it felt like it was probably the right time. But I didn’t want him sacked: I’d have far rather we’d turned the corner under him and made that top 6;spot that was his objective. And it really wasn’t that long before he was sacked - a matter of a few games - that that seemed a real possibility.
