Club is obviously on the wind-up.

Well although as I said it wasn’t a car crash it didn’t imbue me with confidence or inspire. For buzzword fans we had a lot of emotion, several biggest bits and a cat and mouse.

As ever, the most interesting section was Piercy. I think JP was trying to “lead” Liam a bit into opening out that he wasn’t necessarily the textbook must have possession coach he seems to be but Liams answer only reaffirmed that he is. He did kind of not really answer a question about fan unrest a bit and said again that the four losses were fine margins. JP did try and get him to open out on prior poor runs but he kind of didn’t answer that.

If you wanted it to reinforce what you thought, it was an interview to do that. Not really worth watching for anything significant and not a car crash and after Monday, I think the club would take that.

Naismith has made more appearances on Robins TV than on the pitch! Started 10 games this season after missing loads last season.  Definition of not getting value on the pitch & someone we need to try and move on. Undoubted quality but that counts for nothing if constantly out.

Fed up with the bloke.

At the end of the season he should donate a month’s wages to Zak & Rob Dickie, seeing as they’ve had to play virtually every game because he’s seemingly never fit.

Cornick takes plenty of flak on here, but just like Anis, since joining he’s yet to miss a single game. He might not be the greatest but at least he’s available to play his part.

If anyone is interested in taking Naismith off our hands this summer I’d snap their hand off.

Biggest news is that Twine fit, Tanner maybe but Naismith out and from the sounds of it for the season.

Haven’t watched & wont be. I’m not one for conspiracy theories at all , but I wouldn’t be surprised if Naismith has been too outspoken for some & wont play for us again

Yeah - LM is not under any real pressure (following the win on Sunday), and JP presented him with a great opportunity to talk about (dare I say take some accountability for) the poor run beforehand, and he didn’t.  Switched off at that point.

So that means Naismith unlikely to ever play for us again and Tanner will be back around Christmas time.

Having watched it (& I thought it was ok, certainly far better than Tinnion on Monday), it is pretty clear Tanner will be on the bench at West Brom.

I’m not criticising LM over Naismith, truth is the bloke wasn’t fit very often under the previous regime, either.

The one who if you stop talking about, maybe it didn't happen.

I expect we'll have a special pre match celebration for it in ten years, with an anniversary shirt to boot.

I've not watched it and probably won't unless I need help falling to sleep.

Just thought I'd be light of the fact when a player is only a week away they are usually quite a while away.

Yep. Tins and now Liam harping on about the Southampton game over and over. It was 1 bloody good performance. Look at the full picture please...

13 wins in 37 games....

Before the Swansea game, Piercy gave Manning the opportunity (in not so many words but it was obvious what he was angling towards) to expand on his "1 bad performance in 20" comment and explain what "good looks like" to him in terms of a performance, because to Manning its obviously not just the result.

Answer came there none.

Just waffle, buzzwords, pre-programmed phrases, the usual "yeah, no, to be fair" cliches, all delivered in a robotic, personality free manner.

Same old cliche stuff you’d expect but he yet again misses the opportunity to talk directly to the fans directly or indirectly but just sense the mood.

I’ll have a go..

”Look I get the fans frustrations, i’m learning the players, the players are learning the methods and style I’m trying to implement.  Sometimes it feels we’re making progress, sometimes it’s not but I believe in what we’re trying to achieve and so please be patient, I want a positive end to the season, a hard pre season and significant improvement starting game one in Aug”

I reckon that would get various degrees of buy in from us

And to think Kalas got bad press for one bad injury, not a series of several different ones like Naismith. Get him out in the summer.

He’s going to continue giving pre and post match interviews as that’s his job. Not sure we need a new thread with the same people making the same jokes each time.

Well it was Luton the other month...they keep mentioning other teams, yet apparently we want to achieve success doing it our own way.

Any Championship club that are higher in the Championship table than us, particularly the top 6 or 7 are worth learning from. Manning openly admits that he’s learning all the time.

Of course the big difference is the depth and quality in the various squads…..oh wait!…..we have a top six squad as well - don’t we?

I find it surprising that he’s comparing “setting-up” the same for Southampton and Swansea, but expecting the same “results” (not WDL).

My simple view is that Southampton overcommit players and therefore counterattacks are not just on, but likely to be a good chance to create good opportunities.

Swansea don’t overcommit / didn’t overcommit.  Under Martin they did, but he’s not there.  Even if Luke Williams has a possession based approach, he doesn’t bomb players on willy-nilly, they still stay in a good structure.  And in staying in that good structure they are also well placed to press and win it back.

So far we have been told we should copy Brighton, then Brentford, then Luton and now Ipswich. At this rate we will eventually get through the remaining clubs in the pyramid in 88 years.

Actually 87, we can't compare with Coventry because the sold players for big money.

Great post. It’s not rocket science - don’t get why he doesn’t at least try to connect with fans.

Ta. It took about a minute by someone on the sofa with a heavy cold sneezing on average every 10 seconds 😂

You’re right it’s not rocket science so I can’t fathom how he or the PR team don’t encourage or enforce this type of communication

Thing is he'll leave, go to a decent team, play week in week out and be one of the best players in the championship

They do keep 2 hugging the touchline (Swans).

Probably for the same reason as the owners don't contact. We are not professional football coaches so he doesn't know how to keep us informed or involved. We're just the rabble who knows nothing about coaching who turn up, year in year out hoping to be entertained.

Interestingly since getting fit at Schalke (no pre season) Tomas is an ever present this season…

Yes, very noticeable how high Tymon (LB) and Naughton (RB) played in their early build-up phase. But I guess where they differ from Saints is that one of Grimes or Allen always (virtually always) sit in, sometimes both.

Our success came (eventuality) behind Tymon didn’t it?

To be fair, there is pretty much a thread every time there is a pre match presser because it’s a time we hear from the club and that’s been the case under any manager. It’s bizarre to suggest it should be any other way.

Couldn’t give a monkeys of how boring his interviews are or what he said or in matter a fact what Nige use to say either , 3 points and decent performance that’s all that counts for me .
bit like all political parties what they say is irrelevant it’s what happens when they are in power , talk means nothing in life it’s actions and results for me , don’t know why some of you get so riled up by his interviews and say how boring they are etc etc then watch the next one and next one and next one , 🙈

Nice thought, but if that was the case there's no way the club would let him anywhere near the presentation

Two obvious replies

If the threads are that predictable and you don't like them.... Why are you opening it?

Where's the rest of his backroom staff?

Now there’s a shock. I wonder how our internal investigation is getting on for why we get so many injuries! 🤔🙄

two losses from being in a relegation scrap. How exciting, we won our last league game so by my calculations in our next 3 we should lose two, and draw one.
