I think it should have gone to Max today, his saves won us the game, a couple of them were really top class,

Well, technically without Mehmeti, Max’s saves would have won us a DRAW 😉

Max was brilliant - it was a tough call for MOTM - even Sky admitted.

I had a feeling that the quickish start, think we had 3 shots in the first 15-20 mins augured well- not including the penalty about.

Am glad it did as I sent news that we were on Sky to many neutral mates today.

Back on game, Conway was sharper than he has been recently I thought. Structurally we were quite good, espcislly first half. Max had that one real alarming moment but otherwise impressive.

My West Ham supporting mate (not local) said he enjoyed the match and we deserved it.

He does call us 'Bristol City 0' though. Not sure that joke works well now as a WHUFC fan but he is a good mate and watches a lot of football. If he thought we were rubbish he would say so.

What is strange about it?   I am astounded that you have jumped on the "Manning out" bandwagon....considering he has had one transfer window?  I have always respected your opinion, but on this occasion i cannot help but feel you are way off target.  It is not a 'Pop" but merely an observation, that in my opinion , instead of using logic and commonsense, you  are being swept along by the negativity that prevails on this forum.   I am confident that next season we will be in the top 6 under LM.  He is NOT going anywhere, so we better get used to it?

Confident we will be top 6 next season? That's an extremely bold call!!

What confuses me is the fact that after good performances against teams like West Ham, Forest, Southampton etc you are baffled how many of us thought we'd get a result today.

You personally said you had barely any motivation for todays game and were more excited about a haircut.

Yet at the same time you were expecting us to win? Yep the logic really tracks there.

Totally understand if you’re Manning out but if you aren’t going to consider both sides of the debate and give merits when they are deserved because we were somehow expecting to beat a side 35 points ahead of us, 10x the squad value, what’s the point debating in the first place.

£95m on the bench alone according to Sky 😮

We had £95m on the bench. Never used appropriately, ever.

Need to get rid of Enzo. Tbh I think the whole club needs to have a reset even the owners something is rotten and Nissan not right.

I don't get what Mavididi and Fatawu are doing. We play them because we want wingers who can beat their man. Yet I can't remember either having a go.

The casual complacency from the players stems from the manager and his slow, ponderous ‘style’ which was outed as one dimensional and unsustainable a long time ago. And what about man management and motivation? I see none of that from Maresca. The players just don’t seem bothered. Sloppiness everywhere. No fight or aggression or quality in the key areas. What the hell does he do with them in training??

Their reaction makes this forum seem like a united band of happy clappers 👏

I think most of us probably expected us to win today. Because thats what we do under Manning.

Today's result changes nothing.

WHEN we can beat the teams that plays in a low block, then things will change.

Just like the thousands of others that are not renewing?

You must be ****** gutted

Why are you making up lies? It does your credibility no good when your making up lies about another poster.

At NO point did I did I personally say I was more excited qbour a hair cut.

What I said was -

"An hour and a half until kick off and I'm waiting for my hair to be cut, that's how excited I am for this"

At no point did I say I'm more excited about a hair cut. I don't appreciate you making up lies about me. Its not cool and says an awful lot and makes any bizarre point you're trying to make invalid as you have zero credibility.

All right, bit of a misquote my bad, doesn’t defer from my point though.

And you definitely did say you had “very little motivation for todays game” yet you expected a result?

Twine has added some much needed creativity. I do worry that Leicester will get out of second gear though.

On the day I thought that was the best they could be because of the way we played, all this they are just strolling, I don't buy.

I'll counter this by saying, if Leicester would have scored some of their numerous one on one chances, is it a brilliant set up and game management etc?

If we could of finished we'd of been out of site before those chances

Our two bookings were deserved but I couldn't believe they had no bookings at all. A few of their players continually made niggley fouls but there was no reaction from the referee. He had a good 20  minutes at the start but after that he was balancing up the number of fouls they could have had with the number of penalties they got away with. There were several instances in the match where our player got barged off the ball and they got the free kick! As for them continually falling over and then claiming a contact with their face!

Yep, we got in their faces when it was appropriate to do so.  We actually played with purpose.

Really enjoyed. A 90-minute performance and errors were the only downside.

We finally managed to get the ball infield.

Jamo and Max joint motm, but very impressed with Roberts, really helps our composure on the ball.

Roberts is looking the real deal, not too flashy but consistent and reliable. He doesn't rampage like Pring but makes fewer errors imo. An interesting development! He's a player we need to gametime to.

Really enjoyed that. An excellent win and a good performance from City. We rode our luck with those sitters you’d normally expect Vardy to score (great saves by Max, though), but we had lots of chances, should have had a penalty and were good value for the win.

In a 1-0 win does MOTM ever go to anyone other than the goalscorer? I'd have said most of the defence put in better all round performances.

It does, and it should when there are more deseving cases like today.

But I suppose there is a case to say that it shouldve gone to a Leicester player, but noone usually picks a mom on the losing side.

As long as we win, probably I'm not getting bent out of shape on the mom choice.

Yep, and as an aside, FotMob have Mavididi as their highest rated player. Mehmeti doesn't even make their top 5.

I haven’t jumped on any bandwagon, quite comfy making my own opinions thank you very much.  Not being swept along at all.

Perhaps you might find it worthwhile reading why I reached the conclusion I have.

I suspect many on here think I’m wrong.

But do you know what?  It ain’t nothing to do with being right or wrong, it is about expressing an opinion / judgement based on my own methods and reasons.

Good for you in your view.  Do you notice that I didn’t resort to belittling your opinion.

🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

If you think i am belittling you.........then your skin is a lot thinner than i have given you credit for?    I am of the opinion that LM will turn out to be an excellent manager in the long term,  I do not subscribe to short - termism and knee jerk reactions that seem to be the Norm.   I believe in giving time and patience to someone who in my opinion has not yet had sufficient time and opportunity to make his mark.  I have not posted for sometime on the forum, as i am sick to death of the constant negativity and criticism of the club and management.  I am a supporter of Bristol City FC, and i WILL criticise when appropriate, but the constant ongoing demeaning of LM is pointless, as he will be sticking around for quite some time yet.  I am not completely oblivious to his faults and mistakes, but I sincerely believe that given time and opportunity he will prove to be a success.   Only time will tell if i am right....or  a misguided fool.    You are welcome to put your money down on the outcome?

Pleasantly surprised today! He set up well AND was coaching through the match! We competed well. Played Knight in his best position also which reaped rewards. You can't underestimate the importance of Matty James, just plays it nice and simple. I thought George Tanner had his best game for us as well. That's the marker for Monday and now on. It's now up to Manning to replicate and improve on that performance. I am still not convinced by him but credit where credit's due today.

Here you go again.  Not the first you’ve done this is it?  It’s not about thinness / thickness of skin, WTAF.  I’m just trying to explain the tone of your posts.

Your opinion…cool.  It’s different to mine. Marvellous.  Did you read what I put about it’s not about being right or wrong.

Am I supposed to respond in a similar vain to you by undermining your view my saying you’re indecisive, non-analytical, etc, just because you have a different view?  No, because it’s your view, and you’re entitled to it.

I stand behind by rationale.  I’m a Bristol City fan too.  You can stand by your view on its own merits.

A bet?  How old are you?  Lordy, effing, Lordy!

Such a strange result and performance. Delighted to have won and to see Mehmeti do well again - there’s a player there.

But, can’t help but feel that was the worst thing that could have happened for the long-term future of the club.

Massively unconvinced by Manning and do not believe he’s the man to take us forward. This win almost guarantees he’ll be there next season and will probably be given the nest egg to waste this summer.

Especially as this was a win where Leicester could easily have scored 3/4 (deservedly). And remember, this is a Leicester team which has also recently lost to QPR…

Strange feeling. Delighted to win, but just worried.

I don't subscribe to that.

Leicester cut us open many times and it was only their poor finishing that saw us win.

We got lucky, fair play, but the chances Leicester had show there are still big problems.

Conveniently ignoring the chances that we had and the blatant penalties!

I'm no football tactician - there are folks on here far better placed to talk of such things than me but nairy a pass sideways across the back today in comparison to how it's been alot in recent (especially home games) times - seemed to be more positive movement to receive balls and push forwards - thought Pring and Roberts worked well and dare I say I really enjoyed today's game - just need to "back it up" in the next few games and who knows - I'm not convinced by Manning but fair play today.

I hope all those prior to the match shouting about they can't be bothered watching it or doing something else instead enjoyed what they did instead.

Because they missed an excellent game and very good performance, to those who said yes but we were lucky, yes luck plays a part, but you chose to ignore the chances we also missed and a terrible ref who denied us possible 3 penalties.

Not pretending everything is rosy, but encouraging after the recent drose.

having done his best to lose it.

Can't mention anything Max does wrong on here.

He pulled off a great double save early 2nd half, but equally, it was poor finishing from Vardy.

Much like how first half Hermansen made a good double save, but actually Twine hit the rebound at Hermansen and really should have done better.

Max made a superb save from Vardy, but it was making up for his atrocious pass to Vyner that gifted Vardy the opportunity in the first place.

Lots been said about Manning but today he got the tactics spot on. In particular it was clear he had asked Vyner to man mark Dewsbury Hall and it certainly nullified what is Leicester’s most influential player.

Let's have it right here. City beat a team who (were) favourites for promotion, I  think they were schooled today. Leicester were gifted a few chances but personally I think city were the better team.

It was nice to see us be more direct & purposeful with our passing . We passed through them a lot more than recently . Ok sides will be more compact in midfield as we’ve seen with the recent defeats . The intent was there though , which has been missing .
