Jose
And people still think LJ did a decent job . There is no way we spent that on McCrorie ( I assume that’s who you meant)

Compared to the quality of left backs we’ve had we really have struggled in that position for as long as I can remember.

22A
Allowing for inflation, some transfers from 100+ years ago might be in this list.

Best examples I can think of without doing all the maths to prove it would be:- Paul Cheesley at £30,000 John Galley, can't remember what his fee was but if around £20,000 what a reward we got. And Tommy Burden, signed from Leeds when he was their captain, for £3,500. We got about nine seasons for a class midfielder. In short it is not what you pay but what you get for the cost.

The Batman
I remember being mesmerised by spending £1.2 million on Akinbiyi and £1 million on Thorpe under Ward in the late 90s. Lot of money back then but Goater replacement was desperately needed. So was a Shaun Taylor replacement considering his injury but every CB we signed that year was awful.

I think our highest is Jordan Rhodes who was around 8 million (although the actual figure is widely disputed) after that there's Adam Reach was around 5 and then you have to go all the way back to Paulo Di Canio who was 4.5. Not many beyond 3 million other than those. We've tended to waste money more on wages over the years than fees.
