Do we know why Kalas isn't in the Czech squad?

My missus saw him at Noahs fish restaurant Tues eve

Not been involved internationally for a fair few years now, last cap in 2021.

Wow, I didn’t know that.

I was convinced he played against England in the 2022(3) Euros.

He played against us in 2021 for the delayed 2020 (COVID) Euros, dropped out of international football after then.

Gives us something extra to watch now with them and Scotland.

As for Kalas it’s a weird one as the Schalke fans were taking the piss out of us for letting them have him for free because he’s been that good for them, so you’d think he’d of been around the squad atleast

I've just been assuming for weeks that Anis would be going with Albania, saw today that he isn't. I'm sure he's been in most their recent squads? Disappointed for the lad but at least he can get some rest.

He's not been involved with them all season.

Though he does get a mention in this article, about how Albania have improved their scouting under the new manager:

So odd. Like one of those Mandela effects. I feel like I have concrete recent memories of checking Albania matches to see how he got on. Not yet 30 and losing it, wonderful 🤣

I'd actually checked it myself the other day to see if he'd made the squad but then saw he hadn't been called up since this time last year.

Well there you have it. Tricky group they’re in anyway - he may have dodged a bit of suffering. Italy and Spain aren’t anywhere near the peak of their powers right now, but still feels they’ll have plenty to beat Albania. Croats no pushovers either!

I am sure he will have a club come the start of the season, with his talent. He gave us some memorable times as a player, he's played at the highest level and was a real inspiration on and off the pitch. Good luck Andi

He did

@Ska Junkie the part of the thread that referenced playing against England in 2022(3) related to Tomas Kalas.

I do wonder if Weimann isn't going to be the player we miss the most next season. Always seemed a positive bundle of energy, and a class act.

His legs are gone so no I don't think he will

Great servant though and what a fantastic signing he was for us

Would only ever wish him the best
