I will be supporting England first and Germany second (family reasons) and a flutter on Portugal. I think it’s hard to say how Portugal will do. Good squad but on the older side. They will either bomb or overachieve I reckon so potentially good value at 7s. Similar to Germany. Could win it but could easily bomb out early. Just so inconsistent and not confident of their goal scoring potential. I agree about a France vs Germany final with the French winning. It would be great to see England do it after 58 years of hurt but think we go out in the Quarters to Spain or Italy. With what we’ve got we either need Pickford to be keeper of the tournament or we literally have to rely on outscoring teams. The chance for a team in third to go through just incentivises the other teams to play for a draw versus us, then try to pick up wins against the others. This happened at Euro 2016 and led to us drawing 0-0 with the 11 goalposts of Slovakia in the final group game, dropping us below Wales. I got a feeling Germany will win it. They've been terrible at recent tournaments, but the feeling has picked up again after their last international break. I can't help thinking that an extra option at centre back would have been more worthwhile than including both Toney and Watkins - both of whom are unlikely to play more than a few minutes. Either Branthwaite or if Southgate really doesn't think he's ready, Dier - who's had a reasonable season at Bayern.
