I’m really struggling to see where he gets his City reference in here!

I’m sure he keeps saying “down the Rummer” when the ball goes near the Italian keeper! 👀

Let's see whether you're as annoyed by Murphy pointing out the obvious.

In fear of me sounding old, is this tournament really lacking in quality?

Has any team scored from a (long) corner in this tournament?

Seems to be a lost artform

No free kicks either i don’t think

So if I’m getting this right, if we obliterate Slovenia we throw Croatia a rope, as they’ll go above them in the third-placed table on GD. Assuming Serbia don’t leapfrog Slovenia into third. They’re in the shit but not out yet.

Typical Italy scramble a late late equaliser.

The funny thing was, Croatia in stoppage time mostly loomed quite comfortable I thought. Clearing it, playing it out, in the Italy half at varied times..how did that happen??

Croatia are all but out save for the following permutations:

*England beat Slovenia 3-0 or more. 4-1 would leave Slovenia and Croatia level in all aspects of Pts, Goals Scored. Denmark beat Serbia in the same Group.

*Turkey beat Czech Republic and Portugal beat Georgia.

As for Croatia, a tournament too far really but perhaps not a surprise given Modric 39 and the following have left or retired since 2018- small country too...*starters or **first reserves.

*Subasic

*Vrsaljko

*Lovren

*Vida

**Corluka

*Strinic

*Rakitic

**Badelj

*Mandzukic

**Kalinic

Perisic still about but well over 30. Ironically they perhaps did better in the subsequent few years vs when their squad was at its total peak in respect of age range at least.

First last 16 game confirmed. Italy v Switzerland.

Italy aren't quite the force they have been in the past, even Euro 2021. Wonder if Switzerland might edge them out.

2021, both WC qualifiers drawn and Italy missed a penalty in both games. Otoh Italy thrashed them 3-0 in Euro 2021. Last chance for the Swiss Golden Generation too. Only lost once within 90 mins in last Euros, 3-0 v Italy.

I posted last night…just imagine if two points was enough for Scotland! 👀

Only way we don't win it is if we lose to Slovenia or draw and Denmark win by 2 clear goals.

If we draw 1-1 and Denmark win 1-0 it would come down to cumulative yellow cards to separate first from second. That could still go in Denmark’s favour but it’s unlikely as I think they’ve had 4 yellow cards to our 1 so far.

Thanks- they will I guess have multiple scenarios.

Interesting to see that TC was one of a handful of Scottish players that didn't travel back with the squad and made his own way out of Germany

Perhaps he is staying there to watch England. Maybe the percentage of English genes he has outweighs the Scottish percentage, enabling him to endure major tournaments for longer than other Scots?

He's probably now spent more of his lifetime in Germany than he has Scotland.

Probably rather play the Dutch than Austria on this form.

If France did come second that half of the draw would be stacked.

They'll probably win though.

The dutch have good defenders, but their forwards are poor, which is unusual given their history of some fantastic attacking players

**** me, took forever.

Didn't send Taylor to the monitor and let Attwell make a very subjective decision in the last game

And yet send the ref to the monitor here after checking it for ages when it was a clear error
