Whoops......

Pages of snipes and digs at Ronaldo and he has the last laugh with his last kick of the ball.

When will people learn?

Did you cry with him?

In my opinion, after their second game Portugal looked the best team in the tournament, behind Spain.

Despite a stuttering performance tonight Portugal possess class in depth to beat France, whose great defence has compensated for a misfiring attack.

For all the Ronaldo banter, the player is a supreme athlete and a soccer legend. He deserves our respect.

I think we can all lighten up and have a bit of fun at his expense just like he had his fun at the Granny Banger’s expense, the little Winker………

Respect needs to be earned not just by talent but by conduct. His primadonna behaviour during his second spell at United when he simply couldn’t accept that it wasn’t all about him anymore really put me off the guy. Instead of helping to guide and nurture the younger players like a model professional, he simply threw his toys out of the pram. He’ll be crying again when France knock them out next week.

Simply missing a large amount of the story there.

but seems to lack a bit of self confidence

Is Hagi related to the great Hagi I wonder.

Certainly the Romania coach is son of the one they had for a lot of the 1990s. Possibly their most successful.

He is I believe .

“Ianis is the son of legendary Romanian footballer Gheorghe Hagi. The former attacking midfielder was considered one of the best players in the world during the 1980s and '90s. He is also regarded by many as the greatest Romanian footballer of all time”

One had to go in eventually. Dutch have actually been pretty good in this one.

They'll certainly be thinking they can make the final

The Dutch first goal was well struck and was followed by similar shots. Team mates would be backing up in case of rebounds or parries. Hopefully the England team were watching and learning.

Yeah, that referee yellow card at Dumfries was a shocker. Mihăilă is one of the fastest player in Europe and he had a good chances to go for a goal. Then...second goal came from an another mistake.

Deserved win for NL tough, my team can not play at the same level with hundreds of million players. Small teams can't do nothing anymore.

England plays like hell, something needs to change and hope the coach will be sacked (even if England wins the tournament). Southgate is a horrible coach.

Hope England will win but Spain look better than all teams.

What a start. The fizz and energy from some of these so called lesser nations is night and day with what we have seen the England team.. Are they all that much fitter than us or what?!

Spain, the Dutch today, neither change their style when they went a goal up. It’s been said loads, but just rubs it in how we completely change if we get the first goal. No one says go all gung ho if a few minutes left, but both them getting the ball wide so often. Players also exploiting gaps and carrying the ball forward. ‘tis bloody frustrating.

England don't have a style.

It's HT, but I reckon the Austrians have a goal in them and this game ain't over yet.

Flagwatch; Germany, England & Poland are stood near one another on the sides. Further along and not for the first time this tournament; the flags of Latvia and Canada are being waved .

Canada have just got through to the last 8 of the Copa America and face Venezuela for a place in the SF!

IF we manage to beat the Swiss and meet Turkey in the semis, we need to be very, very aware of these Guler set pieces. The quality and consistency has been phenomenal. Real’s attack is just beyond it.
