Still think Twine will be one of the four, but no idea if he’s one of the two supposedly done. Thanks Graham, that's helped. So.... Edit: updated the below following Graham's clarification. Players close to being done (1 of these could be Twine): Player A - unconfirmed attacking player Player B - unconfirmed attacking player Now, moving on to the next 2: Player C - Fally Mayulu (c£/€3.5m - although seems deal isnt agreed yet) Player D - unconfirmed attacking player Edited June 27 by Loco Rojo 2

The club have doubled down on Manning, they have to back him this summer. Sentence one and two equate to the same thing really. Last year we restricted the budget…we could’ve spent oodles and oodles had “we” (they) wanted. As it stands based on the stories, the budget isn’t being constrained like it was last year, ie got a bigger budget.

There was some suggestions that we’d be scraping by this summer when it’s been evident we’ll be investing in the squad.

We’ll be getting the next instalments from Antoine and Alex. Both could even contain add-ons, e.g. 20 appearances, relegation survival, etc. FFP is irrelevant at this juncture. SL just chose to make it hard last season for Nige. Simple as that. Ridiculous too imho. 23
Sir Geoff
20 minutes ago, Loco Rojo said: Im getting confused here (not difficult i know).... So based on what Brian said yesterday ('be happy with 4 attacking players'), the current position is this? Players close to being done: Player A - Fally Mayulu (c£/€3.5m - although seems deal isnt agreed yet). Player B - unconfirmed attacking player Now, moving on to the next 2: Player C - unconfirmed attacking plater Player D - unconfirmed attacking player Have i got that right? Yesterday,Brian actually said, " We've got two that were done yesterday and being finalised today." "4 attacking players, 2 we think are done, then we move on to the next 2." 2
Mr Popodopolous
Would be interesting to know how much Manning gets to spend in respect of money self-generated. I know some and maybe more than some of that went to fill the FFP blackhole but: Fee/Agents Fee outlay Offset vs Fee in Wages Saved We really did start to do more with less set against the starting point. He’s going to be using the float created by Nige initially. He does need a bit of time to create his own. Tommy might be the first example. 1
Mr Popodopolous
On as football note, possibly hard to do but given his first year of success was with Linz, how would we weight the Austrian 2nd tier vs the Championship? Austrian top tier will have some decent sides certainly. Probably isn't so simple but if one 2nd League ranked at x, one ranked at y etc.

And Player D will be Twine if the club has their way.

I think this is one thing that Tinns has definitely been overruled on, he suggested in that Podcast that we might run TCs contract down and just take compo, but whoever is calling the shots financially is looking to maximise what we get for him.
