<INTRO>
We see the outside of the Budokan, and zoom in to see two Sumo wrestlers in Red and White trunks. As the camera zooms in further, we see Martin Kuhl and Lee Tomlin with hands on knees, squaring up.

<VOICEOVER>
”Bristol City have always had links with Japan. From the rising sun pub to overweight players who would be more at home in the circle, the club are closer to the Orient than Orient. But now, comes a bigger link. A player the club have seen 40 times live. A player who saw Ashton Gate bouncing against Southampton, and wanted to join..

Hari-Kari Cornick

Kalmakazi Naismith

<CUT TO YU WITH JAPANESE FLAG>

VOICEOVER

“And now he is here.”

Is that a white reversal of the home shirt?

Didn’t spot any chequered crap, that’s what made me think it’s a different shirt?

So that white shirt he’s wearing, the new away kit?

Random shirt he was given?

More training stuff that doesn’t match the rest?

Good at communications, aren’t we?

Will be intrigued to find out the details of his season long loan in relation to his contract end date, which is Jan 25.  Maybe that’s wrong, or maybe Machida had an option?

Fever pitch in house media company, know some folks that have worked there,  desperate to get out at first opportunity

Please expand! It seems, from the outside, to just be Jon's plaything?

Hey Yu

Out there on the wing

Making City voices sing

Now can Yu hear me

Hey Yu

Giving defences nightmares

Crossing here and scoring there

Now can Yu hear me

Hey Yu

Come over to us from Japaa-aaa-an

Taking us up

You're City's man

Could it work? Can't be too many Floyd don't floating around the league!

Welcome Yu. A brave move I Hope it works out well.

I suppose that we will break him in gently as the bloke has come straight from a full season, into the Olympics .
Let’s give the guy time to settle in and don’t expect miracles ( or Smokey Robinson) in the short term.

So the criss-cross of the home kit, disappears on the away kit?

I like the away kit.  I bet most fans prefer that to the home kit, less is more.

I like it but I refuse to buy anything white as I know full well that I’d throw food down it within three seconds of purchase!

Have they gone early with the announcement time to farm engagements from Tokyo at a prime time?

I assumed that. I’m quite excited by this signing. But I don’t necessarily trust a new Bristol City signing to get through the Olympics without falling down a Parisian manhole and being ruled out until Easter…

I cannot remember our last player-kit joint announcement for the life of me. Love them though, thumbs up City.

Also nice we've got 2 out of 3 kits in early July, in plenty of time for the new season. Third kit now please :D

Tweets getting loads more engagement than usual. Hope the club cash in on a lot of new ‘fans’ from Asia

What would Roy Keane say to that tweet?

”That’s his job!”

He has played for Japan at U22 and U23 level, yes

Well, Google failed me then as nothing about that when I searched.

Look forward to seeing him play football outside the J league at an adult level.

There's loads about him on our Transfer Forum. Also he is a winger not really a forward.

I guess I should have checked, but tend to avoid that due to the abundance of rumours.

5’8” Japanese forward with no international experience at any level and who has never played outside the J league (and only has 11 goals in his career) - an interesting move.

Why didn't you just start the thread with F ** k  Yu
