Can't watch as in Kenya, but from comments about not shooting I've long felt that all to often when in and around the box we don't act instinctively, overthink and lose the chance.

Yep, seems like the same old same old

Jealous of your location. Absolutely love Kenya, Tanzania too

Mehmeti and Sykes execution of passes and crosses are terrible so far. Armstrong not subtle but makes stuff happen. Okay build up but for me real problem seems the final ball and decision making in the box. Get that right we have a chance. If not expect mid table because we aren’t clinical enough.

Despite Sinclair being a nuisance, nothing as yet to provide encouragement we are going to be better in the final third. Mehmeti non existent, Sykes lacking quality. If you could sum up our performance for the whole of last season, this showing would be it.

This is why we needed Twine.

Jason Knight has had an absolute stinker on the ball today. Great off it as always...

Williams isn’t much better, lost count how many poor touches and passes he’s had

Why are we so bad at throw ins, we always throw the ball in, have a look and then go backwards into our own half. If the players were a little more alert we could catch them off guard. It seems to be the thing we do every throw in within the final third.

Build up is significantly better than last season. More movement, better balance with Birds left foot in there.

Still could be better, but we are breaking lines more often which is good to see.

Steady on  way too positive

Not sure how you can say not subtle, the way he laid the ball off to Sykes after his run was calm and measured. He's not just a bulldozer.

Hard to know what to make of this.

We've been the better team and really dominant this last 10-15m or so... but Hull have had better chances and looked more likely to actually put it in the net.

Just lack of composure and final ball lacking

Wells would have stuck a few of these opportunities away

Sounds much like last season.  Little goal threat.  Would that be accurate summary?

If you remember the 89/90 team, we thought we’d score with every attack, last year and so far this game, the opposite is true……

He must be watching this thinking he’d love to play off him. He’d score a hatful with Sinclair to do the channel running and physical stuff we’ve often forced Conway to do.

Problem there is virtually no side plays with two up front and Liam certainly wouldn't. Can't see TC as a 10 either

After we signed Bird all I read from Derby fans was how he's not that good and they have better.... if they have better Derby must have one hell of a midfield, Bird looks like one of our best deals in a long time.

I think we have pinged the ball round well, looked confident, pressed well, shape has been good and are the better team…until we get near their box. Really like Armstrong. It’s ended with Max being the one who has made the better saves.

It’s time to bring it back, end this woke nonsense of 1 up top. Bring back 4-4-2, return of the big bastard and the little fella.

Guess we need reinforcements to up quality.  Is that not what we were

promised when talk of top six?

I believe that Fally and Armstrong could come good in the fullness of time.

In the fullness of time is the salient point there unfortunately. Don't think they are poor signings but they are young, raw and we really need a prime years striker in addition (IMO).

Decent first half, in which we probably finished the half stronger. Some woeful decision-making in the final third; Mehmeti should’ve pulled it back for Bird, who would’ve had an open goal. That highlights our lack of quality in the final third. Estupinan should’ve scored; shot straight at Max from point-blank range.

Nothings changed in the summer. Neat and tidy at times. Sloppy at others.  Still lack any quality in the final third. Armstrong causes problems but doesn’t scream goals. Think Bird would look better along side Knight.

There for the taking.

Will Manning not make substitutions until too late?  Or has he learnt ?

Who should he bring on though? I think the problem is we don't really have the type of player we need on right now sat on the bench.

Meh-meti - not for me I’m afraid - not at this level.

Skykes is way off the pace.

And we can’t pick a pass in the final third for toffee. Hull are shit at the back and we’ve not got the vision to play a man in. It’s really poor upfront.

Williams having, one of those post signing a new contract, ‘mares. Crossing and passing way off.

Final ball and decisions in last quarter, AGAIN, looking to be a big issue.

Upside is Armstrong looks lively and O’Leary exceptional.

When on the ball City players are not being muscled off the ball. Playing out from the back, the players appear to be confident whilst dribbling. When attacking, we appear to commit more players than last season and for the corners, we've had as many as seven players up front. First HT impression, the team looks better than last season.

Now to see what the HT talk from the boss produces.

Our wide play and the speed really lets us down. We’re having to play so narrow up top because we can’t beat a man and deliver a cross into the danger area.

Hull had that break and a whipped cross put City in trouble instantly and it was a point blank save from Max to keep us at 0-0. Max really starting to look like a very impressive keeper.

If we can beat a man and get crosses in Armstrong will be a real menace because of his sheer strength. We don’t seem to have learned anything about our problems last season up top.

This game just shows our inefficiency in that final 3rd of the pitch and why we desperately need that attacking midfielder to knit everything together up there. We have done everything right apart from the decision making in the final 3rd with our passing. Time to pay the money for twine. Dickie and vyner need to concentrate a little better aswell armstrong looks an absolute power house defenders don't know weather to go tight to him or drop off he's creating alot of uncertainty for them with his pace and power.

Overload in midfield, player(s) out position to help compensate- switch play overload wide area..

Or striker drops back, fighting a lone solitary battle 2 v 1 vs CBs.

It would depend on the striker really.

Shame Hirakawa got injured.

Can't help feeling he'd have started in place of one of Mehmeti and Sykes. And deservedly so on this showing.

Stagnant and lack of end product from both.

We seem to be overplaying in the final 3rd rather than SHOOTING. Barca  we aren't so just have a pop boys rather than trying the virtually impossible pass all the time. We don't shoot, we don't score.

I must say, Hull aren't as bad as made out but we should be looking to take advantage as they will have reinforcements at some point.

Sincs is worrying their CHs, at times, so use him.

That whipped ball from a deep position where they had no business generating such a good chance from, in contrast to Sykes probably about 5 minutes prior from a better position put the ball out for a throw in.

Mehmeti again the stand out for me, just so much tidier and threatening than anyone else. Have to win this as Hull are very poor.

How on earth have you come to this conclusion. He’s barely had a touch in the game and when he has he made the wrong decisions
