Looking at the weather I hope it's going to be a better set up than the shambles of last year and the force to get all train travellers to be escorted to the ground. Any news of a bus or a pub we've been allocated?

Always the same when we go there…..sadly, the last two years, City fans arriving by train just get escorted to the ground….don’t expect anything to be different tomorrow

Wonder when A&S Police will do likewise when they come to us?

Lets hope the trip tomorrow is worthwhile 🤞🤞

Last year, I went on the train with my two kids (at the time, 11 and 15). IIRC there was a train strike but they put on one service from Temple Meads.

When we got on the train, the police immediately escorted us to the one first class carriage (stating “you don’t want to go in there, there are lots of drunk football fans”). And then at the other end, we clearly looked “normal” enough that at the police corden at the station we were just able to pass through and take a leisurely walk to the liberty on our own steam. Similar post game, the police originally tried to kettle us but let me and the kids through to walk back of our own accord.

Guess the point here is that they will take an approach of not escorting absolutely everyone who gets off a train and you might get lucky.

I remember going to Swindon a few years ago and we had two young kids and a couple of women with us about 8 in total. Just sat in the station for 5 minutes after the train arrived then just wondered out and asked for the town centre then pretty much just walked to the ground at our own pace

That was the 2014 game when Wade Elliott got sent off and Swindon won the league in November wasn't it mate?

We were drinking in that cricket club near their ground before the game.

Use a bit of intel.

When you get off the choo choo, get away from the happy clappers/OB ASAP, plot up for an hour in a local boozer of the main drag, then move towards the ground in your own time without abusing the locals. When you get within 2 minutes off the ground, give um merry hell on the walk in.

Always works, tried and tested over many years. COYRs.

Out the ground post match, stick together, nice and tight on the way back to the choo choo giving them merry hell again.
