RedLionLad
Why have they suddenly starting drawing the winning tickets in the wrong order? The first ticket now wins a signed shirt, and the second ticket now wins the cash. That’s not right is it?

I said exactly the same last night, surely the first ticket out should be for the top prize and subsequent tickets for the runners up prize. i thought that was common sense

Jackson Lamb
Top prize for Sunday should be a full refund on a ST. Get plenty of buyers then! 1

My thinking is that everyone in the draw should have the chance to win the top prize. not select runner up prizes first and then pick the winner. Doesn’t then give everyone the chance to win the top prize and I’m sure that’s what the vast majority of people entering do it for the money prize

I mean what could beat a Bristol City first team shirt for top prize ?

"Back to you, Phil"! Those were the days. Sort of. At least the football we played was worth watching. The era of rotund blokes with Bristolian accents in club blazers & the Les & Des show, Beryl running the club shop from a portakabin yet we have made absolutely glacial progress since. Actually when I think about it, the club shop was better then..

Mendip City
Wait, so second is better than first? Sounds like something from a Manning press conference!
Oh Louie louie
I remember a bloke from Ashton winning a draw in coxs time and I'm sure it was for 20 or 30 k, which seemed massive money at the time, John's Moonraker scratch cards used to be everywhere in the carpark
ralphindevon
Maybe the club are banking on promotion and down the line a signed promotion shirt is going to be worth more than £

I am in the bar for half time so not aware of the process Is it just order they are announced or do they "live" draw the tickets on the pitch? Looking at the tweet above they announce the money still as the main prize Only asking to be 100% sure before I ask about it

Can't say I noticed the order of the draw procedure though. Is it possible they're repeating the winning number after drawing the second prize to give people another chance to catch it? The first ticket drawn was always the top prize of cash and second ticket was a signed shirt. Now it’s the shirt first……which is a bit naughty IMO.

I completely forgot to follow this up on here, assume this has been resolved? I spoke to two people involved in the draw and they said it was an error on the pitch and the person doing the draw wasn't aware of the correct order

Kingswood Robin Posted Friday at 13:11 Share Posted Friday at 13:11 I remember my dad winning £1000 at half time in the City Society draw in 1986 ! (Bath City cup game I think). As I bought my halftime draw tickets for the Oxford game I thought to myself, bloody hell the prize money hasn't gone up much in 38 years ! I think there was an annual draw for 30 grand as well. Can only give out what they take in though can't they - so it shows that the cost of the raffle hasn't kept pace with the value of money (probably rightly)

The old city society was limited to 2000 members maximum and everyone paid in £2 a week. Attendances back then were only around 6-8000. I think they could raise the price of a ticket and increase the prize money to generate a bit more interest.
