Roadrunner
Last night on Sky sports they had a documentry on this remarkable man. Took Rochdale to a League cup final. Was the first black manager in the football league. Working with Jonathon Pearce Bristol City were the first club in the world to introduce video checks on opposing teams. With the great Harry Dolman, Alan Dicks got us into the the then 1st division. Went on to work at Manchester Unitd, Leeds united and England. Oh to have someone like Harry, Alan and Tony at our club again. If you get the chance to watch it, lots of film referances to Bristol City. An amazing man. That’s actual maverick thinking. Someone should take note…

I thought it was actually Jonathan Pearce's dad that started the video etc, Jon used to tag along initially

Robbored Posted Monday at 21:21 Share Posted Monday at 21:21 Documentary on Sky Sports about Alan Dicks Chief scout Tony Collins. Narrated by City fan Johnathan Pearce It’s on catch up if anyone wants to watch it. It’s well worth it.
CodeRed Posted Monday at 23:05 Share Posted Monday at 23:05 The program was discussed on the OTIB football chat page on Oct 7. Good documentary though, surprised Sky knew about Tony Collins as I doubt anyone at Sky had heard of him, as Sky have always behaved as though the game was invented in 1992. Nice footage of AD.
