City Player Values

With LM probably going to Darlington on loan it made me think what we would accept should they put in an offer to sighn him permanently....

That also made me think about the values of the rest of the squad.

These are just my suggestions:

NB. These figures are estimated market values, NOT what we would sell them for.

Higher or lower for each?

STOWELL - £0

BUTLER - £75,000

PHILLIPS - £500,000

Are you for real?

How is 'our flapper' worth even close to that figure?

Who would pay that much for him, he's a clown!

Sorry BTR FTG but your Reg Dwyte thread being the funniest thread for a while was shortlived. This one is pure hilarity.

All I can go by is what figure, I personally, would hope the club would ask for in the current climate; any less for each would be a disappointment.

There's virtually no transfer market for anything other than frees at the moment - I don't think many of our players would command any fees at all.

If anyone did bid, I don't think we'd get much above the following (reasons in brackets):

Phillips - £150,000 (age)

Stowell - £0 (age, contract)

Butler - £10,000 (age, diminishing talent)

Hill - £150,000 (age, talent)

Coles - £750,000 (age, class)

Carey - £30,000 (never much more than average)

Woodman - £50,000 (age)

Bell - £0 (past it, contract)

Amankwaah - £75,000 (age, pace)

Doherty - £10,000 (wouldn't pay 10p for him myself....)

Burnell - £20,000 (age)

Tinnion - £10,000 (age factor only)

Clist - £10,000 (age)

Brown - £75,000 (age, past bids)

Wilkshire - £100,000 (age, pedigree)

Miller - £100,000 (age)

Peacock - £25,000 (contract)

Roberts - £60,000 (age)

Lita - £25,000 (unproven, age)

Matthews - £0 (waster)

Definetly wouldn't rate Hill higher than Wilkshire. Wilkshire, unlike the majority of our team, actually has a footballing brain. The way in which he reads the game is several levels higher than we are currently at, and his passing ability can only be matched/bettered by Tinnion in our squad.

While I accept he was let go by a Premiership club, other than Coles, Wilkshire is the only player I can see playing at the highest level again one day.

Cheshire Red looks to have got it near as dammit right. People just aren't paying these days. Just cause you're saying Clist (for example) is worth zero doesn't mean he's a bad player, just that you wouldn't get a fee for him.

Remember the £650k WBA offered for Brown? If that was in today's transfer market we'd have been looking at less than half that.

The divide between Nationwide League and The Premiership is just getting bigger and bigger with every season I mean you get absolutely ridiculous transfer fees in the Prem but in the Nationwide the clubs are struggling to keep evens and make a profit, it was clubs like Notts County for example who started the league football and other teams in the Football League and they are struggling to stay in business how many Premiership teams apart from Leeds have been in real bad financial problems but in the end the prem teams get these multi millionaire far east or russian buyers but in the Nationwide it is the fans who are having to save their clubs and soon a Football League club will go to the wall it is only a matter of time
