Guest BCFCTILLIDIE2005
I think that Tommy Doherty has been a totally different player this season and you can definately see that he isn't behind the manager so I would like to see a player swap with wellens coming to the gate and showing Tommy the door. Who agree's with me?

Guest BCFCTILLIDIE2005
we need a good passer/free kick specialist to take the place of doherty aswell as tinnion as he will probably retire next season. Wellens is a class act and will fit in well in our side.

Guest BCFCTILLIDIE2005
Truth teller, you must see from most games that tommy has played in that he hasn't been the tommy we all know and love. He is unfit, I have seen him puke up twice this season and he also smokes 20 fags a day which is poor for a footballers fitness. I'm just looking for a replacement for the doc and wellens seems the man for the job.
Guest The truth teller
Smokes 20 a day - are you sure about that !!! I know for a FACT that is not the case. when he plays he puts more effort in than any of the others, he is a true bristolian and loves the club, he always gives 100%. Oh and at the moment he is at his fittest he has been for 6 years !!FACT. Just isnt getting given the chance as thhmanager is obvioulsy trying to get rid of everyone he played with - as they all know his true colours. Great move the captains arm band and vice captaincy to two players who havent got 12 months service between them.

xerox6060
Straight swap you must be joking Tommy's hardly likely to go to Blackpool, Richie Wellens is a good player I'd be happy to see him come to the Gate, personally though I'd rather see Tommy knuckle down and stay, he's been a liability though for most of this year his dissent to referee's is pathetic. Sadly though I feel come the end of the week we will see 'Tommy to quit City' headlines on the back of the Post.

He appears to be the unfittest we've ever seen him, so your point is only correct if every Div 1 player has massively increased their fitness, which I don't think is the case. I don't know if his head is in it though. After the huge disappointment of last year and our patchy form this year maybe he is as disheartened as us and maybe he wants out. I think that he will be a great asset for any club that does sign him if he does go. It is disappointing to see a blame and replace mentality from the manager. cheshire_red
What an extraordinary coincidence, Blackpool fans are discussing this very topic on their Rivals messageboard. It would appear that Wellens may be a disruptive influence and is another not pulling his weight this term. Tommy loose in Blackpool, what a thought! Longacre_red
Can all you people tell me if mr wellens is that fantastic why hasn't anybody snapped him up, surely it would only need a small offer to tempt blackpool to sale him seeing he's out of contract at the end of the season, and why up to a couple of months ago was he playing in blackpools reserves? The other thing that puzzles me is how the hell can people say he's that good when the chance to see him play is only twice a year i can't see anybody going up to blackpool just to report back on this board. Guest alex1089
Richie wellens + around 50-100k for Doherty thats what i'd do because Doherty at best is superb but i don't think doherty being still quite young would go to Blackpool near bottom of the league so it wont happen i don't think. Guest port marine red
Tommy is the best footballer at the club. Tinnion obviously has something against him like he did with Christian. I'd be brutally honest and say I'd rather Tinnion went than Tommy. Good managers get the best out of the player. Danny made Tommy an international, Tinnions made him an outcast. Tommy must stay! maxjak
Tommy has come back from a career threatening injury and played at times some of the best football seen at the Gate. It is all too easy to make him a scapegoat. A good manager should be able to motivate and inspire, and it will be to Tinnions detriment if he cannot turn Tommy back into the quality midfielder we all know he is. But for a lack of pace and at times a questionable fitness level (which again a good coach could improve) he would be playing at a higher level. He is a quality player and Tinnion would be a fool to let him leave. Don't be so shortsighted as not to appreciate a True Red!! Wellens for Tommy. Your having a LAUGH***!!! bransonmo
How about Dinning for Wellens. They have one thing in common, not performing for the clubs they are with.At least with Tommy he is only 25 and there is still hope we can get him back on track. Once Wellens has the desirometer gaze from Tins, the eye contact will win him over. It appears that Tins is cleaning house and getting next seasons squad ready early. No slow start next season, he knows whats needed......God i hope so.
