Andre_The_Giant
I was thinking about players past and present who have scored on their debuts for City. Off the top of me head......... Jacki Dziekanowski Andy Cole Greg Goodridge Shaun Goater Jason Cundy Steve Torpey Soren Andersen Mark Robins Lee Matthews Marc Goodfellow Anything pre-90s is before my time. Perhaps the forum oldies could help out? Cider Gliders? BS4

cheshire_red
Didn't both John Galley and Joe Royle score hat-tricks on their debuts? Could be wrong, probably am. Saw Joe's in (if I remember rightly) a 4-0 win over Middlesborough at The Gate.

Perhaps the forum oldies could help out? Cider Gliders? BS4 Joe Royle scored four on his debut (on loan) for City versus Middlesborough, in a 4-1 win at AG in Oct/Nov '78. Glenn Humphries scored a sensational own goal with a diving header, after 30 SECONDS, at Millmoor, against Rotherham in November 1987. I can't believe you forgot Lee Miller's debut goal against Notts County. Carl Shutt scored 2, against Blackpool, away, in a 4-2 defeat in 1987-88. I believe that John Galley scored on his City debut, but anyone older than 35 years and 11 months can correct me if I'm wrong.
Guest Huddersfield Red
Geert Meijer scored on his debut against Birmingham in 1979 after a few minutes. Mick Harford got one against Carlisle and then on his home debut against Doncaster - we were 2-0 up with a minute or so to go and drew 2 each. 22A
Yep, Galley got a hat trick on his debut; Huddersfield 0 City 3. Geert Meijer scored after 12 seconds on his debut. Looking through the history book; Ted Bowen scored 30 goals in 39 League games; possibly one on his debut 1932/33. 1937/38 Alfie Rowles scored a hat trick v Exeter in a 4-0 win at AG. He scored 12 goals in his first six games. Still a record for a player starting his league career. 1946/47 Ernie Peacock. 1947/48 Len Townsend a hatt trick in a 6-0 win v Brentford. 1951/52 John Atyeo and Cyril Williams also scored in that game. Williams had played for City before, this was the first game of his second spell with the club. 1964/65 Gerry Sharpe scored twice in his first away game. Guest BTR_FTG
How about that brace of Partridge at St. Andrews? Was that his 'debut' or was it his first full start? BTR FTG
cheshire_red
How about that brace of Partridge at St. Andrews? Was that his 'debut' or was it his first full start? BTR FTG I thought you had to be further north than St Andrews to bag a brace, the Highlands is supposed to be good in the hunting season, but not for a Partridge! I would love to bag a brace of Eagles at St Andrews, actually anywhere! I'll get my coat.
