What Do You Do For A Job?

Big Red Rich

Recommended Posts

I'm self employed (if you are to, how about checking out my thread in the non-footy forum? HERE)

So, simple question:

What do you do for a job and does it get in the way of watching City much? In fact does it help? A few years ago I had a free lift up and down the country as my mate got his fuel paid for by his company!

And whats the best excuse you have come up with for getting out of work to watch football?

In fact, my answer would be football getting in the way of City as I play most Saturdays!

So, what are you answers?

I work in the NHS and after years of experience have a 9-5 Mon-Fri job.

The only time it gets in the way of watching City is when there's an away evening game (like Forrest) that I'd like to get to but have to work....

I work in the NHS(shift worker) as well and it can be nightmare trying to get time off for fixtures. Already I'm faced with the dilema do I throw a sicky and go to the swansea match or be a good girl and turn up for work.

Have had various jobs working in marketing within London and the M25 for the last 10+ years so it's location rather than the work that gets in the way.

The family are still in Bristol (Knowle) though so try and combine visits home with home games.

Twoseats.

I have weekends off, which is great, but the job I'm hoping for would end my days of watching City action-smiley-028.gif

Work in I.T. I Manage an IBM midframe called iSeries AS/400. Never gets in the way of watching City and my director was a season ticket holder, although he hasn't renewed this year so that helps for away games during the week !

I don't work. So I have the time to watch City. But, unfortunately, the 9210 mile round trip from here to The Gate makes it rather difficult for me to get to matches. whistling.gif

Secondary teacher in Liverpool. I teach at Stevie Gerrard's School (the same schol that Bradley Orr went to)! Yes it get's in the way but not as much as running an amateur side. Last season was horrible but I intend on going to far more matches this year.

I'm a Royal Marine and I'm based up in Scotland, as ive been in the forces for 20 years its v much meant that ive missed loads of City matches. I still manage to get to as many as poss though as cheap flights from Edinburgh to Bristol make it easyer and ill drive to matches in the north of England. city.gifcity.gif

Well as you already guessed, I work for Future TV..

I work Monday to Friday with weekends off, so I get to all the Home & Away games on Saturday, as far as midweek goes, on Away games I get half day.. biggrin.gif

Also we got sponsorship, billboard behind the Atyeo, Ads in Reds and even something in Gatepost.. dance.gif

I love my job, even get to fit Sky TV systems for the players. englandsmile4wf.gif

Also complimentry season tickets for the company, which I don't use as I got my seat in the Dolman.. smile.gif

So no, work don't get in the way of football..

I work from home and for myself, so I'm  very understanding and give me as much time off as I want to go to football. It's my boss indoors who sometimes puts her foot down.

I suggest you talk to your union representative at work. It sounds like your boss is picking on the self-employed which may give you a case for a works tribunal.

I hope your partner can support you through this stressful time.
