I get 20 days holiday a year and I can take them whenever I want provided I give them enough warning - for example last year I took Friday afternoons off to give me time to get to the Chesterfield and Walsall home games. It's a Monday-Friday 9-5.30 so there's no issue for Saturday games but it's tough to get to midweek away games unless they're close to Oxford. bissellredhead Posted July 20, 2005 Author Share Posted July 20, 2005 I'm a full time student at the moment I'm studying a 2 year business a level course double option so getting to games is no problem as my old man takes me but its based on when he is working as he has hours here there and everywhere. got my driving test in september so shouldnt be too long untill i have independance on when i can go. also its a 120 mile round trip from where i live! I'm also employed by Bristol City Council for the same purpose. My attendance for reserve fixtures is almost as good as my first team attendance. After trying all the usual methods the only option was to unsolder the thing & hope to find the problem. Whilst heating the joins, I was overcome by an awful smell. Turns out that the owners' kids' gerbil had somehow crawled inside & died! Not one of the nicest jobs I've ever done!Chuck your trumpet my way.... However i start work for Orange in Bristol as of October on the graduate scheme as a network engineer, which will allow me to finally get my season ticket, however games will be limited as my girlfriend lives in Stratford. From there, I was able to infiltrate the 'Swindon masses' after a death defying trip down the 'M4 Corridor'.My special operations have been many, such as confirming that life does exist and using the local registry office in an attempt to see whether they allow marriages 'within the family'.These deeds are unlikely to be published, nor am I likely to receive any medals for my hard and dangerous work.OK, OK, that was all rubbish. In reality I entertain old ladies, as well as being a student.And due to the hours involved in entertaining old ladies, getting to the Gate last season was a nightmare. Work 9(ish) to 5.30 (ish.. like 6.30/7!) and therefore weekends no problem.I work another job one day a week and study two nights per week for law & french so week days can be tricky but I can usually jig things around provided I am working in Bristol.
