I have found that if you fly from heathrow airport then you can go and come back on the same day...flight getting back about 9 o'clock. For cheapness it is best to fly from Bristol to Newcastle in the morning (£16+taxes), then hire a car @ £45, drive to the game and then back home drop the car off.. so thats about £26 + £45 + 300 miles fuel.
