Taz Posted January 27, 2004 Share Posted January 27, 2004 Port Vale 2-5 Hartlepool Pools took full advantage of Sam Collins' dismissal to thump Port Vale. Things went wrong for the hosts from the start - Chris Shuker latching onto a wayward Collins' backpass to slide in. Steve Brooker's drive levelled it, but Ritchie Humphreys slammed in a Gavin Strachan corner to put restore the lead then Michael Nelson headed home (69). Eifion Williams volleyed the fourth before substitute Darrell Clarke slid in for number five. Michael Cummins headed in the Valiants' consolation.
