Early Goal Syndrome

Anyone else hate City scoring really early goals? Most people would call it a great start but I really don't like it! The few times this season we have got off to an early start we've always looked shakey for large parts of the match after.

It was amazing how deep we started playing once all those opportunities to kill Brentford off in the first 20 minutes had passed, can't fault Peacock and Miller on the work rate but they were very deep for large parts of the match, a few times when Phillips caught the ball his only outlet outisde his own 18 yard box was Goodfellow, but obviously the guy had 3 or 4 Brentford defenders around him.

Its just something about scoring within 5 minutes, if we struggle to get a secod before half-time I always get the feeling a draw will be on the cards.

Good job we have super-subs Lita and Fortune really to clear things up after 85 minutes, and not to mention a confident Brentford side who amazingly looked as though they were going for a win instead of hanging onto the draw, left us a few gaps to play with.

An early City goal at AG is usually great because it forces the opposition to come out more.Thats what made for a good game yesterday - much more enjoyable as a spectacle than the 1-0 win over Colchester who defended for most of the game.

An early goal is even better when its followed soon after by a second....City goal that is!.. :P
