22A
The last time we had trouble here was before a pre season friendly. Forest fans went to the town centre and didn't even start trouble until 3.0pm. At this time the game was kicking off and all real fans of both clubs were at the game. Guest WillsbridgeRed
"Along with that posting about the East End, you really are a "scaredy cat" arn't you? " Not really, just a massive hypocrite to be honest. I've been naughty in the past, I make no excuses about it and now see how pathetic and pointless it all is. PhatWill
In fairness, City fans have been attacked in Peterborough on two occassions in the last few years so people should heed the warning. I was there a few years ago (4-1 defeat) in the Cherry Tree pub I think and there was a huge police presence which wasn't letting anyone out of the pub until 10 mins before KO in a direct police escort. Luckily managed to sneak out via the beer garden.
thatcham red
I was there last year with my son (remember that Aaron Brown finish and Sir Brian's free kick?). City were mobbed up at the pub near the ground and there were some Peterborough around, but nothing happened. You tend to have a sharper eye for these things when you have a 6 year old in tow
Guest N1 Jim
At the end of the match last year a group of city boys charged into the peterboro fans in the seats on the right as they were leaving . Police were there with batons drawn. This was in response to Peterboro not being that welcoming in previous seasons. Just caus u don't see it don't mean anything. But I would be a bit more wary Saturday than usual. I know we should all be friendly but it doesn't happen like that. My general rules are be careful which pub you go in and don't wear colours. Sad that things are still like that but when was the last time u saw City fans sharing a pint and having a laugh with other fans in Wedlocks or the Rising Sun? 22A
The football ground should be OK, but not the city centre. The Police have stated in tonight's paper they are having a crack down on shoplifting and anti social behaviour this Saturday. Teenagers in groups of more than TWO will be stopped and searched. 22A
Dropped my son off in town last night and driving in, I noticed many of the arrowed yellow "Football Car Park" signs had been turned around. I put on a flourescent jacket and corrected them all at 9.0pm.
