Guest H Block Drum n' Bass
After the 'Wednesday getting Fractus' Post i was wondering if us non-violent fans could become involved in the Trouble. Do you think they will only go after each other and how many people do you think will be involved? Lets hope the Day is trouble free and The game will steal the headlines for the football! TinnionForEngland
Well i'm making sure not to wear my Burberry which kinda proves not everyone who wears it wants to fight but it's a shame it's assumed that way, Anyhow i'll be sure to be careful, i'm catching the 10:20 AM train so there could be a bit of trouble as i step off that but i hope not
Robbored
Its relatively easy to avoid potential trouble by making yourself scarce if you see any large groups of "fans" of either side looking threatening, signing obscene chants. They'll be surrounded by police..... Theres absoloutly no reason for any sensible supporters to get involved in any trouble at all.
Admin Ian M Posted February 25, 2004 Admin Share Posted February 25, 2004 Theres absoloutly no reason for any sensible supporters to get involved in any trouble at all. Unfortunately that's a slightly naive viewpoint to take. Having met me a number of times, I am sure you will know that I am not the kind to want to attract any kind of violence yet I've had a couple of "close shaves" and one occasion (at Swindon) where we were actually attacked. "Fortunately" on that occasion there was some "less savoury" City fans following a few hundred yards further down the road who on spotting the attack ran to relieve us and enable us to make our escape but the urban myth that those who want to avoid trouble can always do so is not strictly true on all occasions. Guest pukka_tukka
well a have a mate at college who supports sheffield wednesday and goes up there most games...he says that the sheff wed fans even after the little outbrakes at the gate says the owls fans are unlikely to start anything, but will get involved if any thing happens, but i doubt any of our fans would be stupid enough to start a fight at hillsbrough. Guest Uncle Ern
I've heard that even their coppers wear Burberry helmets.

My reply was meant to be reassuring! Of course its not 100% possible to avoid trouble - but vigilance is one way of minimising the likelihood. I took a severe beating which landed me in Hospital back the 70's at Swindon.Looking back I could have avoided the situation if I'd been more cautious.Ever since then I've mangaed to avoid trouble at places like Cardiff,Swansea and Milwall often by looking for Police protection and on some occaisions hiding anything that identified me as a City fan. Stoke_Gifford_Red
I hope not, I don't want to miss my coach back. I think there is only generally trouble if you look for it, although after saying that we did get involved with Cardiff fans at the LDV Vans as we were getting out of our cars (4 families with 5 kids under 10). PhatWill
I predict widespread trouble all day in Sheffield. There will be hundreds of Wednesday looking for trouble and similar numbers from City. Definetly keep an eye out and be safe...
Guest city_2002
I hope there isnt, but the thing is if Wednesday fans start attackin some city fans i mean they START it the papers would just but bristol city on the page saying it was all us. I do laugh at the kids in the east end kitted out in burrberry HAHA

Guest jaypug
Got into grief at ther Gate when we played gainst Swineden in the 1-1 draw promotion decider got into something similar when we played Swansea At their lovely stadium a few years back, it wasn't until after the final whistle when i walked out of the ground to be welcomed by about 1000 screaming Swansea fans beying for blood. i thought i would just stay out of trouble until i realised my car was a couple of streets behind where they were standing. 30 mins later & i ran to the car only to realise there was still a Wembley 2000 sticker in the back window, (it's a good job they can't read) well i thought that was it until we drove down onto the front & watched lots of people fighting in the road, what a night!! :Cheeky22:
Guest cidergeorge
Port Vale away last season was a bit dodgy. Me and me Stoke City mate (in a Bristol City top) were parked at the bottom of the road to the left. We were kept back for about 15mins after the match and then escorted all the way to the bottom of the road where the police pointed to the city coaches on the right. We both walked passed the end of the police cordon by about 30 feet when 5 Vale d****ds tried it on. I jus tremeber answering "no I don't want a fight mate, we just beat you 2-1 (Lita just before injury time) and I'm going home now". Of course nothing happened. Hopefully nowt'll happen on Sat
Guest Mickey Bells left foot
i remember the cardiff game dec 2001 man that was scary. we parked just outside of cardiff and got a train into cardiff central the journey there was fine but after the game there was 3 of us on a platform with 100 ###### off cardiff fans with all the police at the other platform for the train to bristol. i stupidly had my city top on under my coat, but luckily knowone saw it . i was nearly hit on the head with a stone in the carpark outside tinnion park. thank ##### they missed so otherwise it was hospital for me
Guest WillsbridgeRed
The only time I've been on the receiving end was at Preston the year we went up. We sat in the home end and couldn't belive how up for it they were after City scored. Women and children were fair game into the Bristol Transport Police waded in and the local Police got their act together and formed a corden. That was scarey and was a nothing game for them, which shows the warped mentality of these idiots.
