Fascinating Stats

During this eleven game winning run, it has felt like we've pinched a lot of the games at the death, so I thought I'd work out how long we've led each game for over the course of this run:

BCFC v Stockport:

Took lead after 69 mins - Led match for 21 minutes.

Brentford v BCFC:

Took lead after 82 minutes - Led match for 8 minutes.

BCFC v Bournemouth:

Took lead after 40 minutes - Led match for 50 minutes.

Notts County v BCFC:

Took lead after 10 minutes.

Notts County equalised after 41 minutes.

City winner after 90 minutes - Led match for 31 minutes.

BCFC v Chesterfield:

Took lead after 44 minutes - Led match for 46 minutes.

Hartelpool v BCFC:

Took lead after 53 minutes.

H'pool equalised after 70 minutes.

City winner after 75 minutes - Led match for 32 minutes.

BCFC v Colchester:

Took lead after 45 minutes - Led match for 45 minutes

BCFC v Brentford:

Took lead after 4 minutes.

Brentford equalised after 77 minutes.

Lead re-established after 82 minutes - Led match for 75 minutes.

Peterborough v BCFC:

Took lead after 75 minutes - Led match for 15 minutes.

Grimsby v BCFC:

Took lead after 10 minutes.

Grimsby equalised after 31 minutes.

City winner after 88 minutes - Led match for 23 minutes.

BCFC v Wrexham:

Took lead after 3 minutes - Led match for 87 minutes.

So, what does this tell us?

1. My kids are in school and it's too cold to go out.

2. In 990 minutes of football, we have led for 433 minutes.

3. I need to get out more.

4. Madger and RedUn will be very proud of me.

5. We have led the games in this run for an average of 39.4 minutes, which is longer than I expected this to show.

6. I need a lie down.

Perhaps the more interesting aspect of Edsons marvellous piece of research there is, rather than the total minutes we have been in front, in 6 of those 11 games we have scored the winning goal, be it for a 1-0, 2-1 etc, in the last 15 minutes of the match i think showing the vital difference from previous years where we didnt seem to have the right mental attitude/strength, especially away from home, to keep pushing for a winner in the closing stages of a match.

Often if anything we have tended to suffer the reverse and conceded goals or merely shut up shop and take the point - amazing the difference a bit of PMA can make!!

Oh dear.
Sorry, I didn't mean it to sound boring.

Anyway, let's get back to more interesting topics:

What time are you setting off on Saturday? What junction of the motorway will you be coming off at? Where will you be parking? Which foot do you intend to lead with when you walk from your car to the ground? Oh, and will you be folding your scarf in half before putting it round your neck, so you can put the ends through the loop you've created, or will you be going for the more traditional single knot?

Cheers.

About 1.00 I expect.

Ask the coach driver. (x2)

Right foot, I reckon.

Never been much of a scarf wearer.

That's the real issues dealt with then.

Does anyone know if that fat bloke who goes to every Wednesday game with his shirt off is still about? Tango Man I think they used to call him..........
