Big Red Rich
Well, as you may know, i run my own mobile disco. 80's music a specialality. However, tonight i have my first ever wedding reception. I've only ever been to my brothers reception and i was rather drunk!!! So, for those that have been to wedding receptions and can remember what went on, can you help me out by telling me what songs went down well that the dj played? I've got all the normal ones, Kool & the Gang - Celebration, Cliff Richard - Congratulations etc, i'm looking for songs you didnt expect to hear and everyone was lovin' it? Sorry for putting on here, after 6pm admin can move it over as i dont need it anymore!! Its a bit of fun anyway!! So, get thinking............... Mr Ed
Vic Reeves and the Wonder Stuff - Dizzy usually goes down well. The Smiths' Girlfriend in a Coma should be avoided though.

Guest Neo
Some of this stuff below is late 70's if you got it? Abba always. Bohemian Rhapsody towards end of night when you get all the 50 somethings standing on the dance-floor after several whiskies playing their air guitars. If you really want to rock it; Ballroom Blitz by Sweet, Black Betty by ?, We're having a Party by the Osmonds. During the buffet you must play "The Diary of Horace Wimp by ELO! Dire Straits; Money for Nothing, Bit of Bruce Springsteen, bit of early U2, The Police is a must. If you want to upset the kids and veggies; go for Who Killed Bambi sung by Tenpole Tudor for the Sex Pistols I think? Talking of Tenpole Tudor; Swords of a Thousand Men? Proclaimers; 5,000 miles. All in all, never forget We are Family and/or Prince Charming by Adam and the Ants; a must for any wedding! God those were the days; also tempted to sort an 80's disco myself! Nearly forgot; Vienna by Ultravox and some Human League. Phew!

Big Red Rich
Keep them coming! This is excellent. I have a few of those already is my collection. But sometimes its difficult to think a crowd will like a song if you dont like it yourself! I certainly will give you an update of how the night went, however, D-I-V-O-R-C-E will certainly be staying in the box! I dont know of any other forum where a post like this would get such a good response, what nice people you are!!! Dj BRR (I'm actually know as Dj Brie, you can probably guess why!!) RedM
Those old songs with actions seem to go down well after a few drinks ( I've been tosome dodgy parties ) Eg; 'Oops upside your head - the rowboat song?' Y.M.C.A (?!). The Macarena and now DJ Casper Cha Cha. Not all strictly 80's I know Have fun!!! Smoochies: Whitney Houston, saving all my love for you. Phil collins, Bryan adams ? Or am I getting my 80's with my 90's
Big Red Rich
I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned the 'Love Shack' by the B52's yet!! That is ALWAYS a goer. I did a kids party last week, i played Mysterious Girl 5 times and Dj Casper's Cha Cha slide about 4 times. Kids, pah, they wouldnt know what decent music was if the Wurzels came and bit them on the nose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
