City Rocker
Must be ALAN DICKS, the city side were never expected to stay up. then a win at arsenal first game of the season. THOSE WERE THE DAYS. Well they weren't the most attractive footballing side in the world...but they certainly were the most successful BCFC side ever in living memory. So yes it has to be Dicks Up! 22A
1976 for me. 1984 getting out of Div 4 was a reaffirmation of faith that City were back. The two promotions out of this div since then were only getting back to where City belong. I was only a few months old last time we won a Championship, so I don't remember the 54-55 side. That team in 1905 that won promo to Div 1 must have been a useful side as they lost 5-1 on the opening day and then won 14 on the bounce and went up as champs. tompo
Fred Ford's side of 64-65. Came from nowhere (near the foot of the table in February) with a late run. Fired on by Big John Atyeo's goals they clinched promotion on the last day of season. Strangely enough the team they beat on the last day in 65 was Oldham. Young innocent shaver in 76, started out as a glory hunter, and then I stayed, cos its been a buzz being a Cider-Red all these years!!
