Guest number six Posted March 26, 2004 Share Posted March 26, 2004 just read this on the county website looks like we have got another great signing Darren Caskey has left Meadow Lane. That should bring a tear to the eye of absolutely nobody at all. The 29 year old has had his contract terminated. But where he is supposed to be going is unsure yet, according to the Nottingham Evening Post, Bristol City are interested in taking him on. However, Planet Football reports that Barry Fry could be interested in taking him to London Road. Caskey has been getting loads of stick this lately from fans who can see no improvement in his commitment to the team and no loss in weight, something that manager Gary Mills told him he had to do to earn a new contract. The 29 year olds contract was due to run out in the summer anyway, but to get him off the wage bill early was the best thing for Notts County at the moment, although the pie shop takings would probably suffer. As far as we are aware, Billy Dearden is doing a job at Ashton Gate, so that could make the link with them a strong one, while over at London Road, Barry Fry has a Peterborough shirt he wears himself so Caskey would only have to get the name on the back changed : Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
