"The luck isn't with us at the moment and the boys are wondering

where the goals are coming from."

Danny Wilson, Evening Post, Monday 3rd November.

Well Danny, if the players in your squad can't find the net and "Dame

Fortune" isn't producing her huge grin, then perhaps it's time to

recruit. When you're in Bradford this Sunday, you could do a lot

worse than drive the 42.5 miles (according to rac.co.uk) to Rotherham

and persuade that nice Mark Robins, that it's in his best interests

to reboard the good ship Bristol City before our season runs aground.

I apologise for the sarcasm Danny, but what alternatives do you have?

Who else is available now that Swindon seem to have exhausted the

loan market, with their shrewd purchase of the enigmatic Dion Burton

last week?

In 17 league games this season, your team has only scored more than 1

goal in THREE matches. With one notable exception, this is virtually

the same squad that chalked-up over 100 in all competitions last term.

Oh well, rant over. At least I didn't have to endure last week's

turgid draw, as I was enjoying my daughter's 6th Birthday Party, on a

bouncy castle. At one point things got pretty scary and Emma had to

protect me from her fearsome infant associates. Luckily, I emerged

unscathed and after a couple of plastic cups of fizzy pop and a slice

of Barbie cake was fully recovered.

I'll readily admit that I hadn't been that frightened since Benny

Lennartson asked his team to perform the diamond midfield formation

in the 6-1 mauling by Wolves in 1999.

Now, rather than analysing our forthcoming opponents and musing about

the pitfalls I'm going to talk about something far more worthwhile.

Since August 9th, Jer Boon has been cycling to and from every

competitive Bristol City match, for his season long project, BCFC By

Bike.

This insane venture, totalling over 7,000 miles is all in aid of the

hugely worthwhile cause, The Breast Cancer Campaign.

The Breast Cancer Campaign is the only charity that specialises in

funding independent breast cancer research throughout the United

Kingdom.

For further details, logon to Jer's website NOW, at:

www.bcfcbybike.com.

You'll not only find out how to donate, but will also be treated to

Jer's fascinating adventures on the road, as he cycles around the

beautiful English and Welsh countryside.

At the last count BCFC By Bike had raised over £1100 and clocked-up

2664 miles. Please don't let Jer's hard work go to waste, as every

penny you can pledge is very gratefully received.

Remember, as well as enduring the physical strain of his efforts, the

poor bloke has to watch every single City match. Oh, the humanity!

You forgot the players "contribution" to our impressive start to the season.

They- er havent exactly lit the division up.

Top striker 1 goal in 6 (impressive that)The others are contributing their fair share (not)

Central defender who cant put a foot right. (After a good season last year)

Midfielder who gets himself sent off, and seems to wanna fight every time (Unlike last year). Another who hasnt come to terms with Div 2 yet.

Several non contributary appearances by several of the other players (sigh that will always happen, but its worse this year).

Add this to Dannys skillfull management, this year, in a mediocre division.....

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. :Sleep15:

Thanks for the reply Bucks...

I wish I had the enthusiasm to mention all our faailings this season, but I'm afraid the Green 'Un wouldn't have enough pages.

If our present run continues and there is still no hope of new signings, I think I'll be writing about the contents of my pre-match meal in the Nova Scotia and how many pints I need to consume in order to be anaesthetised.

Greenun,

On a boring Friday PM, and having watched the Wycombe farce, I got to comment, as I cant beleive how ######## City are this season..but they dont care...

A night out with beer sounds a much better option, and more inspiring...

Must take me pills as they are wearing off, I'm starting to become happy clappy, wandering in a Wilson Blunderland......
